As far as fast burgers go, In -n- Out takes the cake. Around here anyway (mcd's, bk, carls jr.). Usually if I eat fast food it's something like Subway, they put a ton of veggies in there.

Love burgers though.

Well as as far as In and Out is concerned you're absolutely 100% right.
They are far better than any of the rest including my fav. B.K.
The problem is that the only place in the whole country I've ever seen them is in your area though. I get out there and always head for the first one I see. As far as Subway goes, They're only ok, but I prefer burgers over all most of the time. A good burger, and fries, with a huge Pepsi,Coke, or pink Lemonade will set me free for a while. A burger often makes a great midnight snack also. Wish ,In and Out, was as common as B.K., and Wendy's etc.

Put an ice chest in your truck and carry your own food. Fast food joints sell bags of ice too.

Check out books on tape also.

Food grows, it doesn't come from a factory. Do not eat industrial products. Eat everything as close to the way it grew as possible. Avoid anything made with refined flour, hydrogenated fats, or high fructose corn syrup. If your waist line is larger than 38 inches, lose weight and build muscle mass. Do a lot of push-ups, lunges and stretching.

I have a directory of the location of all of the walmarts and same's clubs. I use it to avoid places I know I won't like.

We should all write that Pimp My Truck Show and see if we can get Nick's rig pimped. You seen that show Nick?

Do you sleep in a sleeper cab or in hotels mostly?

When I was in the floor covering biz, we had 3 weekly deliveries to our warehouse. I had my own guys unload the trucks and got to know the truckers real well. One guy had (log) a layover in our town one time and asked us if we could install some berber carpet in his cab and sleeper. Don't see why not......the word spread and we put all sorts of crazy carpets in the trucks and didn't charge them. But they would haul stuff for us like once I shipped a dirtbike to Dalton, GA, ect.... and they would bring us hams from VA. It was a cool arrangement. When I got out of the biz and went back to school, one of the guys brought me a roll of carpet and some rugs from my old store while he was on a delivery to somewhere else--brought it right to my house!

I can never seem to find a B.K. when I need one. I wish they'd make a B.K. location guide complete with parking capacity, seating capacity, and hours open. directions from exit ramps would be nice, too. Also, they should have atleast some 24hr locations like McDonalds(yuck) does. I'm in a 77 foot tractor trailer, and sometimes have a little trouble getting an accessable location. I've blocked lanes, and driveways for it in the past though. They say "Have it your way"
I say it should be 24 hrs and on every corner w/a location guide the size of a phone book, or larger. This is ridiculous tonight. I'm near Mobile, Alabama, and all I can find is a damn subway tonight....GRRRR!! :fork_off:
Are you related to Elvis?

People I know in CA swear by In-n-Out's. I looked for one when I was there last, but didn't find one. Guess I'll have to go back again.

He woulda been the goofy looking one hanging ouside the Mens room door!

When I lived in SC in the late 80s early 90s a legislator from around the Clemson area got busted for picking up gay prostitutes at rest stops. He still maintains a law practice in Charleston.

Yep, we are spoiled here in So. Cal. In-n-Out has the best fast food hamburber in the country. I think they're in several of the southwest states now. I know I ate at one in Vegas. Theeir fries are also the best. They make them fresh from potatoes right in front of you.

Well, all of you have been great. This tuned out to be worth while thread. I'll now be armed with a Garmin 680, a host of web sites, and links, and a list of locations for B.K. and some others. I wasn't expecting this sort of response to this thread. Thought maybe an answer or two would be all I'd get, and a lot of criticism was also expected. Turns out I was way wrong. I didn't think what I do would interest any of you guys in the least. I was wrong about that part also. A good friend of mine wrote a book, called "On the road with photo Joe" I think. It's basically a picture book with captions and a few small paragraphs. I was entertaining the idea of doing one of my own. He didn't make a lot of money off of it. It is published though. Here are some pics of my co driver, and I and the truck. There's even a speedo pic. The speedo stops at 90 so I don't know exactly what I was doing. I know she'll max out in the area of 112/115 maybe because I got a ticket for something like that last year going up a small hill in Iowa, on I-80 near Wolcott,Ia.
