Question Ethanol

Has anyone had trouble with gas from Murphy oil? We have a mechanic in our town who has reported to quite a few people that the fuel has to much ethanol mixed in it,This is supposedly eating up fuel pumps! what is your experience with this gas? just-n-time.

E85 doesn't eat up fuel pumps so I would think that unless he has E100, it shouldn't do anything but that is just my thinking.

I dunno Murphy Oil? E85?

Oxygenates (such as ethanol and MTBE) ?? Or that E85 stuff?

A lot of guys with hi-po motors or old muscle cars/classics avoid the stuff. Cars run like **** in some cases and do cause probs with f. pumps

The MN Hot Rod Assoc'n has a great list of gas stations of all stations in the state that don't serve it.

I avoid it because ethanol has lower BTU.

All gas in CT has 10% ethanol mixed in. I don't know if it's a seasonal thing to replace the MTBE (?) or not.

Consumer Reports did a test on a FlexFuel Tahoe and the mileage on E85 IIRC was roughly 70% of that on RUG.
