Yes, but the weight of the tanks demands that I wear suspenders. That's the bad news. The good news is that I was pleased to discover that Segway is offering a revolutionary GPS/driving control interface that will allow the vehicle to self-direct to the local Pizza Hut.

...and then to the gym, to ride a stationary exercise bike.

Well, let's not get crazy now. Segway is also offering an adapter kit to allow the more fitness-oriented rider to pilot his Segway on most popular exercise treadmills.

Does that come with the Segway conversion kit from battery to methane(sp)?

Yes, but I've decided to pass on it's use as I'm not too keen about the interface.

I don't think you need an adapter. Just drive the Segway onto the treadmill, and see what happens. If you can eat pizza at the same time, you get extra points!

Why do people hate Segways? If a guy wants to use his Segway instead of your own personal preference of transportation why does it bother you?

I don't think anyone should needs an acceptable reason to make others feel better about their choice.

Thos segway are quite fun in my opinion. A local credit union had a rental location showing them off so I took a spin in one. It's odd but I got a good grasp on its operation in about 2 minutes.

I saw the Chicago police using them during the wintertime and they were quite zippy, even going from concrete to grass without a hitch. I can see how they can be helpful allowing police to cover larger areas.

Totally useless engineered fad,following a long line of unnecessary toys,like crackberries, designed to separate hooples from their money.

Go to a f*ckin' garage sale and buy a goddam bike for 20 bucks,excercise and economy...............but that's just me,King'o cheapskates........
{I also pick up used 12 volt batteries at the yacht club and get $2.00 each at the local scrapyard.............}

Too fast for sidewalks and too slow for the roads. They're just wide enough to give drivers more cause for anxiety.

And they're slower than bicycles. About 13 mph I understand.

Some people have replaced their cars with Segways. The money saved over a car is quite significant, and traffic jams become a non-issue. Most people can't bike to work unless its OK to be panting and sweating when you get there. This depends on how many hills you have to tackle of course. Overall they are more maneuverable than bikes, you still get a dose of fresh air, and then you can usually bring the Segway indoors, often right to your desk at work. Obviously this scenario doesn't work for everyone, but no single mode of transportation ever solved everyone's problems.

Oh, and a 12-foot wide car lane can be split into 3 Segway lanes.

If I lived 5 miles from work I would give Segways a hard look, a bicycle would not work out well because the stretching on my Valentino suit from the seat shoved up my ass would be a problem. If a tiny fraction of the people use a Segway instead of their auto, its a worthy cause IMO.
