i am not for term limits. folks should be able to elect whomever they like.

the problem lies in the seniority system of committee control, imho.

The committee system has its problems as well.

But Congressional term limits are desperately needed. It's the one essential thing that our country's otherwise-brilliant founding fathers left out, and it confounds me.

Incumbents ALWAYS have the advantage in an election. Always. Term limits would help balance the scales somewhat. And as I said before, at least it would limit the damage that can be done by individual politicians.

I wsa responding more to this line:

And Congress reflects NOTHING nowadays, except their own desire to get re-elected.

It's burdensome at times but they get re-elected by pleasing their constituents.

not much better than when the reprenhisiblicans were in the majortiy.

of course there is that pesky presidential veto which negates any real change without a significant percentage of republicans going along with the majority dems. it will take about 20% of the repubs to override a veto.

the repubs are near open revolt on some issues so that may not be too far away.
