If you go back and re-read the posts, I am on record as personally opposed to abortion on moral grounds, but in favor of keeping legal.

Abortion on demand at any time shouldn't be allowed.

Late term abortions on perfectly normal fetuses in a healthy woman that would be viable outside of the womb shouldn't be allowed.

Only those on the Left can believe that the human fetus carried by a woman is "her body." A woman's teeth, breasts, legs, hair -- all these are her body. But the human fetus is another's body. Why do you believe that it is only the Right that is trying to take away your rights or freedoms?

Look at what the Left has done. Everything they disagree with or find offensive they legislate: Some men harass women? Pass laws banning virtually every flirtatious action a man might engage in vis a vis a woman.
Flood legislatures with laws preventing the creation of a "hostile work environment."

By definition the left is preoccupied with more government control of people's lives. It is astonishing that this obvious fact is not universally acknowledged and that the Left has somehow successfully portrayed itself as preoccupied with personal liberty with regard to anything except sexual behavior and abortion.

Taxation is another obvious example. It is difficult to imagine greater government control of a person's life than forcing the person to give half or more of his honorably earned money to the state under threat of being imprisoned. All rational people acknowledge the need for taxes — who other than the state should pay for police, roads and national defense, and serve as the last resort for the truly helpless? But all rational people should equally acknowledge that the greater percentage of one's money the state forcefully confiscates, the less liberty the individual has.

Ok. So why are you ok with sending someone to prison? What if they spend the rest of their lives there but are found not guilty later on? Are you so sure that every man sent to prison is guilty? If so, how? If not, how can you send them to prison? Oh, that's right, he has the rest of his life left. Sure, you take away, say, 18 years of his life. Now, how will you pay it back? But that's ok. You can comfort yourself that he has the rest of his life ahead of him so you sleep easier at night.

Me, I realize that NO justice system is going to be perfect. Yes, some mistakes might be made. I am NOT happy about it but I also realize it is the best solution we have at the time.
