I'm with you on this one. I have an intense dislike for Rosie and usually am at odds with her opinions and methods, but this is a case where she is having words put in her mouth.

Rosie's problem (well, one of them at least) is that she is so well known for shooting her mouth off constantly and for making inflamatory statements that in a case like this it is very easy to spin what she said. Who wouldn't believe a headline that says "Rosie labels US troops as 'terrorists'". Its almost like the boy who cried wolf. Nobody believes you when it counts because of all the crap you've talked in the past.

She asks for it, pure and simple. I think she loves being embroiled in controversy. After her gig on the View, she should look at getting her own radio show on Air America (that sinking ship).

Yeah two phonies that are in it for the money and not at all for the cause.

There are ways to say what Rosie said, ways that can get the same point across -- but instead she had to do it in her usual fat-head way... a way that the people that need to be lead a bit won't entertain.

Is what she said true? Partly -- her numbers are off, but her theory is right. The fact that before we went there fewer people -- Iraqi and American, etc. were dieing -- and now there are more. Saddam was a bastard, but in a nation full of bastards, what are you going to use to control them? A bigger bastard.

For us to think that these people are going to all of a sudden see our "way of life" -- and follow it is moronic.

Simple as that.

Well put. I like Scarborough more and more but the guy is sort of an opportunist. In May of '03 he could be regularly heard asking, "Who's next? Syria? Iran?" Now he's down on the whole thing, calling "W" delusional, etc.

Everything I've heard from interviews with Iraqis indicate that for the vast majority of them, life is more dangerous now than under Saddam.
