How in the heck ...WAIT......WHY IN THE HELL would you spend $18K on a $1300 car? For $18K you could have gotten one with less tha 5000 miles on it! Strange.

YES !!!! god knows you are correct sir. getting bitt in the keister indeed. i got into a point where around $5,000 was the minimum and during the course of that repair{the entire braking system the dealer claims was so bad im lucky to be alive in more or less terms} it was discovered there were peices of metal floating around in the transmission/pump. theres the otrher $5,000...two days ago,it was discovered the injectors run full blast from startup,i.e.,,gas/air ratio unadjustable=excess wear from vaccum will screw it up alot sooner than it would if i replace injectors and the fuel distributor. another $3,500....{ all of these repairs were made at the advice of the service advisor in order for it to not just run but last a reasonable amount of mileage so that i have a car that would warrant such repairs.}$2,763.00 for miscellaneous parts from mercedesshop.com,,,, so, theres the big ticket costs and how it all has progressed. thats not including initial $1,300 for the car and the $230.00 for tags/tax.............................ive got a front yard id much rather have put new bushes in this season or plant some flowers,,make the house look a little better just as someone else mentioned.......guess what !!!!! aint gonna happen. im considering the advice of an attorney. several weeks after i bought the car i found out from the previous owner it had a five pound bag of sugar poured into it once by a jilted ex-lover.......wondering if the law can help make her cover at least half of it......... ????????????????

But you really need to work on these old cars yourself to make owning one worth while. At this point I'd stop all work and get the car out of their ASAP. You are already up to $20k which is insane IMHO. You are 60% of the way to a new C class!

The dealer is raping you!
cyber beer to each of you gentlemen ! i know ive been screwed {either by myself or a combination of things/people} but i do appreciatte the support.if only you guys knew how it is to have to be the one in the position,,i can pay the bill, but geez !!! i would really love to be putting that money elsewhere.hell,i couldve gotten another degree for that much....one of the vast number of things i would have spent cash on over any car ever, the thing is the dealer has slow walked the whole time and i do get its 22 yrs. old,i just figure before i got wind of all of it slowly i couldve got wind of it at least to a large degree much sooner.....soon enough to say HEY HOLD THE PHONE !! but,i cannot let the blame solely lie within them,it lies also with the crook i bought it from {i seriously have lots of proof evidentiary,im not just being judgemental} as well as in myself.........so,its just gonna have to be one of those hard lessons in life learned.i still do and always have admired mercedes for their vehicles. ill just know next time to be much more selective and be a better judge of the vehicle.my wifes s2000 was only like $12,000 less ..............wow.

$23,487.00

well,,,,$18,540.30,,,thats the bill to mercedes,,and all together costs $23,487.000 and it freakin sux........the $200.00 detail sucks they didnt buff it after waxing it,they just wiped it down with a rag and then did a crappy job of that, ive got spots of chunks of wax still stuck in all the obvious places it would stick.....within 2 hours of picking it up i had to attempt starting approx.6-7 times before it would start......i got home and the ovp fuse was blown and the water temp sensor was unplugged.replacing that helped the startup. but it was still blowing the ovp so i replaced the ovp and it was all good.this morning i tried to start it and after the second try it started,,,,,i havent felt like going under the hood to see if it blown again.....that sucks because thats the whole reason i took it in..............ill figure it all out today.the new transmission sucks as does in my opinion the brakes.....i say that based on the old trans/brakes,,,,,,,the pick up sucks,,doesnt feel like $5,000...there are like no passing gears/power at all. i had to floor it to pass someone yesterday.thats the first time ive ever had to do that. yeah,,,i still feel like m.b. of nash sucks !before any service tech lets a car go out they need to make sure why its brought in its fixed. i even bought the frikin mechanic 2 $25.00 gift certificates to longhorn steaks to show my appreciation,,,,,,,,yeah,,,i shouldve saved my money on that one.

Jason: You're either the unluckiest/wealthiest guy around...or you're f'ing with our heads regarding the saga of your car.

PS: I have never paid more than $150.00 for a detail job by the guys recommended by the dealer. And I live in one of the most expensive-to-live areas of the contry.

{HA!!!,,THE DEATAIL ON MINE I ASSUME WAS DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT IT IS CRAPPY!!!}yeah,,,im scanning and posting the 18,0000 some odd exact figures for the mercedes bill.......which the car by the way is going back today because within 48 hours of picking it up friday the a/c began only blowing hot.THE DRYER BOTTLE EMPTY AND NO POWER AT THE COMPRESSOR,,,SO IM ASSUMING THERES JUST A LEAK SOMEWHERE.im pretty annoyed.again,,this all accumulated this way in order to not lose about $5,000 outright.so,yeah, now looking at it the ends probably will not justify the means.mercedes claims these repairs were not only for functionality of the vehicle in general, but probably most importantly for my own safety {the brakes/tires}......ive never been one to really have faith in the civil justice system {no offense to civil court workers just the headaches of the whole process/dealing with the courts,,,im trying to think about a wedding in november instead} nor do i think suing someone frivolously is a fun idea so i would not {the primary reason civil courts are backlogged and tedious to deal with}....but ive been really wondering would my car fall under the lemon law ??? i havent had it maybe 3 months-ish and have yet to be able to drive it in a safe way or at all. the day i drove away it was o.k. or seemed so,,then within a weeks time it was parked because of overheating/leaking coolant....anyone know a good civil attorney in the middle TN, area ????? seriously.!!!!!!!

Well, in any event, the only way you are going to get your money back is to drive it.......for the next 10 years.

hope youre right it went back to the dealer monday morn. they gave me a loaner {which i hear is out of the ordinary} after speaking with the G.M. {not on purpose it just ended up happening} he saw {as did the mechanic after review} i did have valid complaints and asked if he could send someone to my home to pick it up {1 hour away} and drop off a mercedes loaner.....i told him if they are good enough to let me have a loaner ill be good enough to at least drive it back over there myself.......so, they gave me an 2007 c-280. quite nice indeed.the details in the console design are great.the way controls are right at your fingertips..i had the pleasure of driving in a light rain and the wipers adjusting themselves when they needed to was very handy.the instrument cluster is pretty basic with the exception of the digital redout portion centered betwixt the dials.the sound system is great.......while very basic in style and design {the console},reminding me heavily of the console in the 2007 ford taurus id rented last week,it is still quite attractive.it has an C/S button...dont have a clue what that means, but i know S gives you more power, especially when passing. a very sturdy and traditional feel to the ride.....i think its a really decent little car! i also find it a very stylish and attractive bodystyle.....ive read a number of negatives about the 300 series, but 200 ????? cant recall any random bad press......beats the 190e by a few {thousand} miles inoverall evrything, with the exception of my new suspension.mines as good or so close it would be hard to tell and i like that a helluva lot ! turns out the plugs on mine were the wrong ones { i ordered them,go fiure}and the a/c was revitalized just by unhooking a sensor that i had hooked back up after noticing it off friday night.they forgot to tell me that would happen if that sensor was plugged in {just behind the radiator fan on the side of the impeller}. the power problem we believe is a clogged exhaust.......the mechanic {great dude by the name of david} said he very likely will have it back to us today......thats awesome ! i didnt even worry with mentioning the detail,,it was clean enough and ive got all the stuff i need to do it.

update

ill have to admit through all the headaches and turmoil of the last 3 months it all paid off indeed. sure, ive had complaints with many aspects of mb nashvilles' practices. but for so far as the young man who worked on my car,he did an outstanding job. ill take my 86 over the 2007 c280 anyday. theres not a thing wrong with ANY mb in my opinion, but,,,man, youd just have to drive it to understand.....my only engine related "complaints" is a small hole in my exhaust that i believe to be at the joint where thae catalytic converter is and twice ive had to remove the OVP and put it back in and i believe it rattles loose. other than those thing, not one hint of a problem......the mechanic gave me a list of specs/0-60 times for most if not all mbs'. according to that list 9.9 is my 0-60.i think it abit lower than that, could be wrong, either way. doesnt matter. i love it. someone apparently abandoned a 190 2.6 at one of the local coffeehouses its pretty rough, but things like the wheels are in great shape, console trim stuff like that.im going to try and grab it up but,my wife seemed a little dismayed at the thought...................hhhhhmmmmmm.
