If he was drugged or dead drunk, maybe. At least she didn't pull a Lorena Bobbit on him.

I'm surprised that everyone is putting such a negative spin on this.

It's obvious that the guy was experiencing some sort of medical emergency. Unable to stop the bleeding with rags, his faithful wife accomplished it by surgical application of a little hot lead. If not for her resourcefulness and excellent aim, he'd be dead now.

This woman is a hero, I say, a hero.

Indeed Sir, I once repaired a leaking boiler in the same fashion by hammering a lead slug into the hole,so why not an Irishman's skull?the thing bears a similarity I say.

That is a hog of a bullet, at least 300 grains. I have seen what bullets do to human skulls and that bullet left the muzzle at a very low velocity or came from long distance. A 5.56 nato will take a large chunk out of your dome on exit.

Of course you did.

There is NFW that bullet entered the man's head and provided him an opportunity to speak after the event, unless, as Carleton noted, somebody hammered it in there.

The only way the velocity could have been sufficiently low is for the weapon to be fired from about 3 miles away........and even then I'd bet he dies.

This is what actually happened according to both of them: She accidentally shot him w/ a gun she always kept under her pillow. They made up a story about the headache because they were both convicted felons and did not want to admit to having a firearm, which would land them both back in jail. Etc., etc., etc...

How does one "accidently shoot" someone? I never fully grasped that phenomenon, even though the media repeats it constantly.

The statement that "the gun went off" is also a beauty..........

I can think of dozens of scenarios that would account for her "accidentally shooting him w/ a gun she kept under her pillow..." Some of them are very funny, very exciting, very stupid, etc... But I find it very believable. Don't you?

You might think of dozens of scenarios.........none of them can be "accidental", unless you can explain how her finger got wrapped around the trigger "accidently", and how the finger moved backwards "accidently".

Don't believe everything you think.
