Most of them know me on sight, or by name. They both know, and don't care if I'm registered, on my bike, or car, and could care less. They still say hello, talk, and hang out. They don't give a damn about whether my car is legit or not. I drive around Hamden and NewHaven w/o a plate at all, and they don't look at me twice. The only real threat to me is out of state, or out of town cops. I went to school with half of Hamden's, and NewHaven's also. If I have a problem I can generally get it taken care of with a phone call and maybe sometimes, a case of beer, around our area there Hat. I'd still bet they couldn't tell a 300CD from a 560 SEC, no matter what year either one of them is. They both look dated, yet modern enough, to be passed off as either year if you swap out badges, and plates. Color, and make, and maybe body style, are all they really ever bother to match together. If it says silver Mercedes 300CD coupe, on the registration, and the car is badged as a 300CD. I doubt very much they'd come up and check out the vin# in the windshield, which will also be "Duplicated" from the other car's, along withthe door Jamb tag. As for the 300CD's and swapping plates from one to the other, I don't even bother with the Vin tags.
