But I already have a MercedesShop window cling handed to me (well...sold) by the great Roy Hunter himself....

I always worry that if I get the mileage badges, or this, that someone's going to steal them off the grille. I already lost a hoodstar last year. ($34 at dealer) I'd be unhappy if I spent $30 and it disappeared a little while later.

After receiving my OBK badge, 1) you won't be disappointed and 2) even if it's mounted as it comes there's no way for someone to steal it without tearing the grille apart. Two threaded studs, a couple washers and two nuts (I replaced mine with locknuts just for posterity).

If someone stole your tristar, then maybe there's a chance that someone would tear your grille apart trying to get the badge off. They're really going to have to want it. But I'm not sure how much a MSForum badge is going to mean to someone who's not a forum member.

Cheers,
Jeff

^^^It was a leap of faith to order even one badge for an SL, where it would be very hard to attach them to the grille... and he has two, SLs, one listed as his daughter's, who might not be a member of Mercedesshop anyway.

Damn perceptive Jim! Positive the badge will fit the diesel and ML, but not sure of the SL. So we'll give it a shot! I have other badges that fit the R129, the MBCA badge, in particular.

Cheers,
Jeff

The badges are excellent, but a look at the avatar I use suggests they may be very difficult or impossible, to attach to a 560SEC, as well as the SL.

Any suggestions you - or anyone else - might have, as to how you could mount them on an "badge unfriendly" Mercedes grille would be appreciated.

It could prove pivotal in deciding whether to order one.

(I did see a grille badge mounted on the grille of a SEC in a photo of one on a German website, but it was blurry and very small, so theoretically it could be done).
