The fact is that he and his family WERE covered and helped by the current program--to say that expanding it was needed to was not supported by the illustration.

I'm not that wild about using cigarette taxes to expand SCHIP. It's a highly regressive tax but lawmakers go to that well over and over again.

Still, medical costs are going up too fast. We get less bang for our buck than most of the industrial world. Just crying about 'socialized medicine' (shudder) is not the same thing as progress.

Of course the Dems would never stoop to personal attacks. They are far above that. We are indeed blessed that they run the country.

Lets see --how about the attacks on Rusn's appearance, his cigar, and these were just posted above. We need not go back to Bill Clinton's not merely firing the Travel Ofiice ( which was his right), but he had to try and make the Director look like a criminal ( which he was not). The politics of personal destruction.

It has been said that the Dems are the evil Party, and the Repubs are the STUPID Party. There is more than a little truth to that, but what it really means is that when some is bi-partisan, it is both stupid and evil. There is a LOT of truth to that!

Franken's book "RL is a BF Idiot" came out after he had the gall to poke fun at Chelsea's and Hillary's appearance. Nobody is running down his wife. He put himself in that glass house with all the stones he tosses.

This thing about "gonna find out where your children go to school" -- in a case of a kid getting what looks like welfare while going to a private school, there is at least some logic and justification behind that, however, as has been pointed out, the kid in the spotlight and his sister were getting scholarships.

The reporter he was haranguing was not involved in some welfare fraud investigation involving her, she was criticising his corpulent self. Making what sound like vague threats to tail someone's children is just off base -- sort of like Bill O talking about "we're going to come after you where you live," because people were giving him heat about being utterly clueless about the black community.

As for scrutinizing Rush's pharmacy purchases, dude broke the law, while railing against those who break the same laws. Fair game.

100,000 cops on the street. Were's the funding for THAT? It was for only 3 years. After that, you were on your own. Nobody asked the obvious question...good idea, but where's the funding? "Oh, you're against police if you're asking that question...you for the criminal element?"

Same thing with SCHIP. $35B (NOT $5B) to EXPAND the damn program...but no LONG TERM, PERMANENT FUNDING SOLUTION. AND YOU'RE EXPANDING THE PROGRAM TO PEOPLE THAT CAN AFFORD THE CARE...NOT THE "DOWN AND OUT" FOLKS THE PROGRAM WAS INTENDED TO HELP.

WHY DO WE EXPECT THE GOVERNMENT TO FIX EVERY F**KING PROBLEM THAT'S OUT THERE?

JUST 'CAUSE THE CANADIANS/EUROPEANS/INDIANS/RUSSIANS/CHINESE DO?

Why do we (or some of the population) think the grass is greener outside of the United States? We're envious of their system of government? Their corruption is so much better than ours? Their system of judgement is that much more superior?

We all have our faults...but the Dems have one fault that just grates on too many nerves of responsible people...short-term thinking. "Let someone else figure out the details...give me the "pat on the back" and accolades for the neat idea."

Or what started out as a good idea turns into a social quagmire of pig-trough (sp?) slop. (Social Security/Medicaid)

SCHIP is funded properly for now...and the expansion of it is curtailed because someone didn't cave into to hyperbole, dog-and-pony shows and B.S. statements like "Let's save the kids!"

And all the while, everyone screaming "Let's save the kids!" still has their jobs, still gets a GOVERNMENT PAYCHECK and still is number 2 on the power scale of importance.

I'd rather see the right people get the right care, instead of the wrong people putting the right people in body-bags.

If you can't make sense out of that statement...

BTW, if Rush is the messenger, keep trying to kill him. He's a moving target that the Dems/Libs will NEVER have enough mental speed to keep up to.

I've got plenty of logic left, but it appears it'd fall on deaf ears. And I gotta say, what I wrote if an insult at all (I don't think it is), is pretty tame.

Reflect on this: Kerry was right about Vietnam. You die-hard, frustrated warriors will never get that. All this "lurch" bashing derives from that, IMO.

Unable to admit your error, you compound it by endlessly snickering over some nonsense. Sorta the way Rush and Hannity trot out that phony sounding laugh all the time, in the belief that they are accurately dissing their opposition.

Does not benefit the greater society, merely cements error.
