For example, I have lived and worked in several foreign countries over my lifetime and I think you and I have quite different perspectives as a result.

I think you should cut Bot a break. I'm sure that his reasons for bashing Kerry and Gore are something like "didn't like the stare in his eye" or "just put out a weird vibe" or he could probably just tell from the way the guy speaks and looks, methinks.

I mean all those are valid ways of summing someone up, right? You don't really have to have any actual facts or information. Come on dude, even if it turns out that what they said wasn't actually what they said or even someone else said it or maybe no one else said it - it's true in essence.

Whether I've been outside the US, or not, isn't what drove my comment. What drove my comment was the fact that in the US, today, we have people who either; Arrived legally, and are waiting for the proper paperwork to makes its "glacial" appearance on some over-paid, barely breathing, government wonk's desk, for the next rubber-stamping...


you have the "few" that paid some con-artist 10, 20 or more-thousands of dollars to stuff a semi-trailer to over-flowing (ala: Nazi Consentration-camp style) and dump the survivors on our shores.

Or, you have foreign nationals COMING TO THE US BECAUSE THEIR GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WON'T TAKE THEIR MONEY.

Ever hear of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.? Ever been there? I have. You have a Merry-Go-Round of the world rubbing your elbows in the hall-ways and elevators there. And that's just the doctors and nurses. You want to talk patients?

Yeah, it sucks to be them, in their own country. Where ever that may be...and that also includes Canada. Sick? Take a number and hope the bologna you're carrying turns greener than your appendage while you wait your TURN for a CHANCE to see a doctor in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.

If that isn't a glimpse at what the 3rd world experiences on a daily basis, then turn on the lights and open your front door. The guy sitting in the chair, next to you, may be from - not across the street, but from across the "pond" - like England or Germany. Or Moose Jaw itself.

AND, IN THE MEAN TIME...you have certain politians that can only point fingers and bad-mouth people TRYING to find a solution. Those folks are a dime-a-dozen and aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell. But, there are those folks, out there, that think those very politicians are the next messiah, coming to fix their little problems and make everything all better...just so long as the "...big, bad businessman pays back all the money he stole from you little folks..."

Don't ever try to convince me that Kerry's 3 Purple Hearts as the same as McCain's.

And if any liberal radio talk-show host out there has the nads to out a "phony soldier" - More power (and air-time) to him.

But, until that day happens, someone has to show the rest of the world that BS is pumped out there on a day-to-day basis as FACT, when it's anything but.

And, when a family is trotted out in front of the media, and NOT ONE PERSON QUESTIONS THE PEDIGREE OF WHAT'S BEING PRESENTED AS FACT, the 1st Amendment, as well as the "Freedom Of The Press" has been damaged, to the detriment of all free people in the world, living and dead, soldier and civilian, public and private, rich and poor.

We are the United States of America. Those words, alone, inspire the hopes of all who dream of freedom and peace, more than any other 4-word phrases that man can utter (other than "In God We Trust").

But, those 4-words are for another thread.

And, any politian that thinks he's above those words, has broken his oath of office and should be locked up like the traitor/criminal that he is.

No, I've never been to the Mayo Clinic. Ever been to the hospital in New Delhi? There's a good chance you find a doctor who spent some time at Mayo.

This is what makes you sound like you've never been outside the US. It seems you would be shocked to know that millions of people like their own country. People immigrate to the US, to Canada, to Europe, to Africa, and there are still people who like it back home.

Last time I was in Canada, I didn't see people dying in line for the doctor. I did find plenty of Canadians who would never consider moving to the US, and many who would only do so for a few years.

The fact that people immigrate here is not a blanket condemnation of their own countries. Some people aren't happy with the way things are done at home, and some are.

I wasn't in Vietnam, so the last thing I would do is judge one veteran's wounds over another's. I'd point out that Pat Tillman was shot by his own men, so I expect his purple heart in your mind is worth less than another Afghan war veteran's.



There's a difference between questioning what's presented, and half assed blogger 'reporters' camping out outside the boy's home, making claims before proof.
