The most annoying commercials are of local flavor and are just way to cornball for me. These are the major car dealers - the used car guys are just disgusting
Wilson Dodge - uses his 6 year old son, maybe cute to some but....spend some time on acting lessons Gray Daniels - uses a ventriloquists puppet on the lap of the owner (lame) Now my other sort of related rant is TV in general. I don't want my screen to look like Internet Explorer with pop-ups and scrolling text messages. During a recent newscast they had 1. the DOW scrolling 2. Election Results comming in 3. National Weather Service Advisory. 4. Local Headlines from the Clarion Ledger, time, temperature, and whats on next. Way to much info for me. I feel better now. Dabbs GM - uses the owners black lab to do stunts and supposedly talk and make great deals on cars when the boss is gone. |

Was looking for links the the old Dick Balch Chevrloet commercials (from near Tacoma Washington) back in the early 70's, and found this: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/soundoff/comment.asp?articleID=283791 A similar thread to this one, and a quick look-see shows Geico ads, and "Apply directly to the forhead" lead the list there too:D:D |
Another local ad comes to mind.
Koons Toyota, featuring, IIRC, Crystal Koons telling the audience how she's going to WOW them with super deals. All the while she is gazing into the camera with the most ugly, deep set dark eyes, looking like somebody punched her out, then did it again for good measure. Jeez, is she hideous! http://www.koonsmarketing.com/ads/television/KTT10151.wmv |
