Most annoying TV commercials
Have to start a "rant" thread. What's your most "love to hate" TV commercial(s)?
Any of the Geico commercials, and close second, "Apply directly to the forehead". Who writes this crap?! :flamethro |
I would have to agree with the two you've mentioned, along with any pharmecutical ad with the line "Ask your doctor if *fill in the blank* is right for you!
|
I don't watch many commercials anymore. I either mute the TV and read something or watch the show online minus that adds.
|
Watching TV with the kids and mother-in-law, the Cialis/Viagra ads seem to go on for 20 minutes.
|
McDonalds commercials....and the medical pill commercials.

I can't stand the Mercury Insurance commercials. And I agree with you, the apply directly to forehead commercials are just plain stupid. |
"Head On, apply directly to the forehead..." The new ads themselves now make fun of the first most annoying ones...
|
I find the Chase Bank ads with the guy doing a terrible impression of Mick Jagger extremely annoying. Can't explain it but it irritates me to no end and my wife laughs at me trying hit the mute in time.

Personally,
The freakin' Ape-man commercials are, to quote Pete, "stoooopid!" |
Is it the Wendy's commercials that have the guy with red braids? Those ads make no sense.
The first few Capital One "What's in you wallet?" ads were good. Now they're old. Or maybe it's because half of our daily mail is Capital One solicitations. Sixto 87 300D |
Since this is, from time to time, a car forum, when was the last time any car commercial really captured your interest? Most are as boring as the cars they are trying to sell. I think the last one I ever looked forward to was the "Happy Jack" Hummer one.

My wife looks at me funny when she sees those MB ads with owners hugging their cars.
Admittedly I get emotional with the MB ad with the 114 or 115 seeing its years of service flash before its eyes(?) while sitting in the crusher. I play over and over the MB video with the 20-inch rims song in the background. The 111 crash testing, 100 going through chicanes, Stirling Moss... those were the glory years. Sixto 87 300D |
