coming home after a war, and trying to get on with your life is a very difficult thing. Unfortunately some cannot adjust. It also happened in my father's generation (WWII). Not all casualtys of war occur on the battlefield, some happen years afterwards. For all that, most vets are able to cope with what they went through and are above average performers in society.

Even if there are smaller number of homeless vets as compared to regular homeless persons, its still a sad predicament to be in after serving your country. Even if they are going through some psychological problems, the society in general owes them to be helped in every possible way after what they have gone through for the country.
