How has the aid been paid off? By trade deficit?

You keep on pointing the finger at Israel because its the only country India can point the finger at.

Wait til the Pakistani tanks come marching in.

Why don't the Palestinians make a semi serious effort like say 14 days of no bombs?

Again, you must think there is a free lunch. There is NO FREE MONEY. It comes at some expense. There is a bumper sticker that says "Gas, Ass or Grass. Nobody rides for free.". My Dad, since 21 has NOT touched any money he didn't earn. Why? Because he doesn't want to be obligated. Inheritance? No thanx. Money gifts? Thanx but no thanx. Give it to charity. I used to think he was insane till I started receieving "free money". Someday later, I found out this money comes at a price. Think I plowed my neighbor's sidewalk for free? She likes to wear low cut dresses which gives me a good view and a hug when I do. Think I would stop for you if your car broke down? Probably not. What about that hottie that I might get something from? Different story.

Care to tell me what happened on June 7, 1981? I know the USA didn't do anything but it was a good thing for us.

You assume I live in India? No trick is as underhanded as milking money in name of guilt. Have you read the cost to average US taxpayer to fund this shenanigan? Why should all have to bear the brunt? As citizens we have every right to question this blatant waste of money.

I will repeat, since you are so concerned about Israel. Why don't you live there?

After giving out all facts here you got to be blind to keep peddling Israel and its right to free money.

By the favorable trade balance between both countries and has Israel paid off its aid?

http://www.wrmea.com/html/us_aid_to_israel.htm

Since 1992, the U.S. has offered Israel an additional $2 billion annually in loan guarantees. Congressional researchers have disclosed that between 1974 and 1989, $16.4 billion in U.S. military loans were converted to grants and that this was the understanding from the beginning. Indeed, all past U.S. loans to Israel have eventually been forgiven by Congress, which has undoubtedly helped Israel's often-touted claim that they have never defaulted on a U.S. government loan. U.S. policy since 1984 has been that economic assistance to Israel must equal or exceed Israel's annual debt repayment to the United States. Unlike other countries, which receive aid in quarterly installments, aid to Israel since 1982 has been given in a lump sum at the beginning of the fiscal year, leaving the U.S. government to borrow from future revenues. Israel even lends some of this money back through U.S. treasury bills and collects the additional interest.

How does the numbers compare to India?

Third world warriors fight U.S. wars - for dollars a day
Sometimes cheaper isn't always better. Do we need these soldiers? But of course. Sometimes you need a stubby wrench, sometimes you need the same wrench but in a longer version. Just like sockets. Sometimes I need a 10mm in quarter inch rachet, 3/8, 1/2, shallow, deep, medium, etc, etc. My point is that they all have their uses. So, what do you do? Keep a chest full of as many tools as you can. I don't usually use my 1/4 inch standard drives. However, once in a while, they come in useful. If I didn't have them, when I need them, I am stuck.

Take a business. Sometimes we hire in-house. Sometimes we hire freelance. Which is better? Depends on what you want to do. We have used other sources besides our in house talent my business. Sometimes we groom them in house.

And by the way about Pakistani tanks read this..........

Last time they did, they met with one of the biggest anhilation in tank war history.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Longewala

They did, however destroy nearly 50 tanks, remaining one of the largest disproportionate tank casualties for one side in a single battle after WWII.

Invading Pakistan troops meanwhile, had over-estimated the Longewala post due to the stiff resistance encountered there. Attacking with virtually no air cover, they waited too long to deliver the lethal blow, and failed to anticipate an Indian counter-attack from the skies. Given that Pakistan's T-59/Type 59 Chinese and Sherman tanks were slow on the sandy Thar desert, some military analysts have opined that the attack may have been an overly aggressive move on the terrain. Some Pakistan tanks had suffered engine failures due to the harsh conditions

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Basantar

The battle was supposed to showcase the might of Pakistan Army against an outnumbered Indian Army in that particular sector. However the ingenuity of a bold attack by the Indians surprised the enemy and the bravado of the Indians was always a factor that tilted the battle in India's way. Pakistan Army generally regards this as the most humbling defeat, next only to the Battle of Longewala despite numerical and qualitative superiority over the opposing force. In this battle alone India had destroyed close to 70 tanks losing only a few in the process. Pakistan's Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report recommended that the Commander 1 Corps, who "surrendered to the enemy without a fight" should "be tried for criminal and wilful neglect of duty" and poor conduct of operations, that "seriously jeopardised the Army offensive in the south.

Love to root for the loosers dontcha

Since you mentioned having dual citizenship, that was a decent guess. Sure you have the right to question it. However, how would you expect a full answer without having access to all the dirty secrets we are involved in? Or do you deny that?

And I would like to ask, why don't you try self procreation? I never said I was concerned about Israel to the point I would fight for them. My only concern for their wellbeing is based on their ability to do things for us as I have said time and time again.

Ok. lets talk facts. Show me the list of dirty deeds we have done. Lets see which ones have Israel's name on them and which don't so we can really be sure one way or the other.

At what point did I say they have a "right" to this money? At what point did I say the money is "free"? I don't believe in an entitlement. I don't believe in free money. So, let me reiterate, since you cannot seem to grasp it. As long as they are our ace in the sleeve, we give them money. When they rebel and fail to do too many things we want, we toss them to the wolves. This they understand. I don't see why you don't.

You remind me of Gottadiesel. He'd reply to a question with a link or feint but never answer the question directly. How do those links answer the question posed?

What kind of answer can be more direct than those links? You asked if there is any dirty deeds. Well do you think those are clean deeds?

OK. As in business, how do you tell if an employee is useful or not? You pull up the complete list of what he does and weigh out whether the result is positive or negative. Again, do you have a complete list of all the naughty things we have done and doing? Yes, there is one or two things that come out here and there. However, it is logical to assume that there are way more things going on behind the scene, successful and not successful. Without that whole list, how did you make your judgment? Without all the facts, how did you come to the conclusion you did?

My conclusion is based off the idea that what we know of is but a small tip of an iceberg. Otherwise, the CIA, Mossad, KGB, MI5, 6, GSG9, etc, etc, would be staffed by 3 guys and a receptionist. Everyone is doing naughty things. Few are caught. So, if you know of two successes or failures or just 2 cases, how do you know how many others are out there that you don't know about? Without the total knowledge, how did you come upon your judgment?

Your idea is that we are so powerful and so good and we don't do dirty deeds so we don't really need Israel. We can hire these mercs. What I want to know is how you came on that conclusion? I haven't seen a tool that does everything. Have you? All I am saying is that they seem to currently be handy to have in certain situations. Certain, not all. Dumping them as an asset is easy. Grooming another one is difficult. Again, with business, I can fire anyone I want. After that, hiring someone to replace that fired person is a lot more difficult. We can dispose of Israel. But what if they won't do our bidding when we ask later on? They might say "You want what, when? Why don't you go fawk yourself." As long as we give them money, we have some control. We have something we can withdraw. So, are you so sure you won't need them ever? Can your $3 a day mercs do everything you want?

Were the pointless threads the final tip?

Yeah, right. I have no doubt that my misgivings on this topic will be chalked up as 'some liberal looking to find bad news' or 'hoping for bad news,' 'hoping for defeat,' etc.

I would be happy with some actual progress, and while I'll agree that Rummy being gone is good, I don't buy the notion that somehow "W" has hit paydirt.

OBL publicly chastised his minions for alienating Iraqi citizens and we are seeing a decrease in violence in Iraq just as we are seeing a surge of it in Afghanistan. It's no stretch for me to imagine that AQ guys in Iraq have taken their roadshow to Afg. in part to remove their irritating influence from the locals in Iraq, and to let them deal on their own with an American presence that is bound to wind down before long.

Regardless, we have invested enormous blood and IOUs for very little real progress, IMO. Saddam was more secular that whatever is going to take his place in Iraq, many AQ have gotten hands on experience in IEDs etc., and American prestige has taken a hit worldwide.

By all means, let's salvage something but don't delude yourselves in thinking that "W" has come out smelling like a rose.
