As far as that hunter is concerned, he had the best signaling device right in his hand. Why couldn't he have fired a couple shots (blanks) into the air when he realized he was lost. His buddies would have found him... Also black powder makes a great fire starter. He could have been all nice and warm and someone would have seen the smoke! I mean it was a muzzle loader, right?

What a dumba**

I got a Mio C230. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to use it while I'm eating my lunch today. I'll let you know. PowerPig says they're pretty good. If he thinks so, that's good enough for me.

I shot a couple of powder pellets without a bullet loaded last week and they went about twenty feed or less in the air--less impressive than a dud bottle rocket But I agree that he could have fired a wadded shot AND used the powder to ignite a fire.

He's a dumbass imo for not orientating when he entered the woods and simply determining the compass once he decided he was lost and not heading from whence he came.

Exactly. It still goes "BANG", right? his buddies might have heard him. When I said blanks I meant with the wadding, just no bullet.

I don't think he HAD a compass, that was the problem. just a GPS with dead batteries or something...

House of Time, maybe? Gawd I loved that shop. On Gentilly, maybe? I heard it's gone.

Steven Wright?

Isn't he the guy that lives on the one way, dead end, street? He should have had his map . . . where the scale is "one mile equals one mile"

If I were to go out far enough in unfamiliar waters, I'd have a GPS on the boat and a handheld one. Odds of all breaking down are pretty slim to none.

Wandered around till he found something and when he got tired of wandering, he said "Here is is, boys."

Not really--they just went "ppfffffffft"--the cap was much louder and you know they aren't really loud atall.

I didn't mean that he had a compass--using slang for determining NSEW and putting down some sticks

Baker Lyman in Met. More of a manly commercial joint--not a jewelry store.
