I'm kind'a like'n this moron.

As much as I hate all this new TSA and airport security cr-p. Part of me wants say: “Hat’s off” to this guy for not standing for it, but the other part of me wants to say: “You’re a fool.”

And I guess he didn’t “stand” for anything, for long.

BERLIN - A man nearly died from alcohol poisoning after quaffing a liter (two pints) of vodka at an airport security check instead of handing it over to comply with new carry-on rules, police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred at the Nuremberg airport on Tuesday, where the 64-year-old man was switching planes on his way home to Dresden from a holiday in Egypt.

New airport rules prohibit passengers from carrying larger quantities of liquid onto planes, and he was told at a security check he would have to either throw out the bottle of vodka or pay a fee to have his carry-on bag checked as cargo.

Instead, he chugged the bottle down — and was quickly unable to stand or otherwise function, police said.

A doctor called to the scene determined he had possibly life-threatening alcohol poisoning, and he was sent to a Nuremberg clinic for treatment.
The man, whose name was not released, is expected to be able to complete his journey home in a few days.

I pretty much feel the same way 50/50. Well, maybe more like 75/25 on the guy's side.

Terrorists have to be laughing their collective asses off at the way people are now treated at airports and other security areas. Mission accomplished indeed.

What I wanted to know is what kind of vodka was it? Must have been some good stuff, eh?

I fly at least twice a month with a 100% of my connecting flights through Denver or Chicago. That's six segments in a week.

I have no problem waiting in line so they can weed out the killers and fools who are ignorant of the flight rules.
Most are blind and deaf to FAA regulations, I would love for them to limit
carry on to a purse or briefcase (1 carry on) containing NO food or beverage.

Also impose a cell phone ban.

And yes, a job well done to the Mission Accomplished of defeating the Iraqi Army and to capturing Saddam and bringing him to trial.

Now we carry on with another mission of bring political freedom to a Nation.

Damn, why didn't I think of that option when they caught me with a large tube of toothpaste in my carry on?

Good thing it wasn't a laxative, that might have left a mark.

I fly twice a month too and I think the airport TSA is a joke. The took my shaving cream and aftershave but still let bombs through.
Somehow they just don't make me feel safe.

Fly by the rules. Unless your gonna share your spirits with those around you in line you need to surrender the goods.....

When all this started I was flying home and had a brooch the size of Europe pinned to my jacket and it was almost confiscated because the guard thought it could be used as a weapon. I thanked him for doing his job that he was getting paid to do and asked if they would mail to be if it was surrendered.....my demeanor paid off and my brooch was returned. still can't spell.

My wife carries bubble lined SASEs with her when she flies so that if they won't let her fly with something, she puts it in an envelope and they mail it for her. Had to use this twice now--once for a bottle of perfum, and once for a pair of small solingen surgical scissors.

I on the other hand, flew with a pint of Stoli poured into a Pedialite bottle (re-sealed) tinted with orange Kool Aid and sailed through like a champ flying with my 2 yo last week

Because at 30,000 feet you'd start foaming at the mouth.
