We have a three year old 32" lcd in a conference room and hook laptops up to it all the time (mostly for powerpoint) and it works fine.

I have a 43" Samsung DLP (Hi-Def 1080p) that has my computer hooked up to it as well. It is about 4 years old.

When I first tried to hook my computer up to it I could only use the audio video jacks and the resolution was terrible. I purchased and installed a new graphics card that had a DVI output. I ran that cable to the DVI input in my TV.

The picture is remarkable.

The new line of Panasonic panels feature a 'net connection, I don't recall if it's wifi or wired, but it can automatically link to YouTube.com, so there must be some form of imbedded browser and codecs.

Well give mti a gold star--apparently we have Powerstrip, otherwise you have to re-size the screen for every application or when you switch back and forth from tv to computer input.

I don't pretend to be a gear head around this crowd, but wouldn't your right thigh cover up the intake on that carb intake? I've been looking at old Moto Guzzis and Triumphs for about.....three years now and a couple of those have popped up too.

I don't think Englishmen have thighs like Americans.

I have a sort of 'reverse' monitor question. I was given a free Samsung 20" LCD computer monitor. I was thinking it sure would be nice if I could use it to replace the 28 year-old 16" Sony in my bedroom, connecting it to the AV outputs on my VCR or DVD, but the Samsung only has a single 9-pin computer connector socket. Is there a conveter or adapter availible or am I SOL?

Happy Motoring, Mark
