A friend of mine claims that you can use a hi def TV as a monitor and that it can be done wireless with a blue tooth device.

I see a lot of them that have inputs for computers, so I guess you can, Joe.

So, you'll be going out this afternoon to get one, will ya?

I have a 32" LCD that I use on my gaming computer for playing games like Halo and Need For Speed.

My LCD has input ports for a computer so I'm guessing yes.

You can do it several ways depending on the computer output/TV input. Some later model computers have DVI/HDMI out or you could use the monitor (RGB) out of the computer to the RGB in of the monitor. You won't burn in a later model plasma or LCD as long as you don't leave the image up for hours at a time. I have a HTPC I built hooked to my plasma VIA the RBG port and it looks fine. You may have to adjust the resolution output of your computer to match the monitor.

Yes, definitely. You may not even need to swap back and forth between inputs. I leave my TV plugged in as a monitor at all times and just need to change the "source" from TV to "VGA" using the TV remote.

well... here is a short story

my step dads health insurance company is dropping me when I turn 19... I can keep it only if I have 12 credit hours or have full time student status(which is 12 credit hours)

I only have 11.5 hours.. only because I have some health class that is 2.5 hours instead of 3... gay I know.. so now I'm without insurance when I turn 19... But.. Publix has health insurance and I have to sign on to that.. as well as dental too.. its affordable... and is taken out of my check automatically... hell I live off of 50$ week on purpose so I can save up for emergencies or incase of market crash... so I'm set I just... welcome to life Joe

I was thinking about getting a 34" Vizio from wal mart and a Mac Mini with wireless keyboard and mouse and replacing my current tv in my room with that... but.. we'll see.. just an idea

They both have the outputs/inputs you need. You would get much more bank for you buck if you build your own HTPC though.

My 50" Pioneer has the SVGA 15" connector, and I've connected a laptop, but you'll need a program like Powerstrip to match and fine tune the the screen size, ratio, etc. Otherwise it's rather a waste.

Sure you can, Don. An LCD 'TV' is just a big monitor anyway. Digital TV is just mpeg 4 files. It'll all merge together more completely as time passes I'd wager (PCs and entertainment that is).
