I agree with you, I don't think this country is ready for a black or for a woman to be President. Sexism and racism are pernicious. Many people don't even realize that they're sexist or racist. When Gloria Steinem said it's harder being a white woman than a black man in US society, it seemed like a toss-up.
Why is it that many sexually repressed countries, and countries where women are demonstrably treated as second-rate to their male counterparts often have female heads-of-state? Dr Batchelet and Mrs Kirchner come to mind come immediately to mind.
