Yep - I'd highly recommend "nourishing traditions" or "eat fat lose fat" written by the above mentioned authors - if you're so inclined. Amazon has them. Coconut oil is like the wonder fat - it's good for just about everything.

Gurkha - we use stevia or rapadura too.....but just tried agave nectar in some ice cream this week. It tastes awesome - but I've heard some bad things about it. Have you heard this?

That's cool Kuan - never heard of them but their website looked interesting.

You should try Kefir - the milk sugar (lactose) gets eaten up in Kefir and many people with milk allergies love it.

My daughter, for example, can't drink regular milk - but we tried kefir/raw milk and she was fine.

Pretty soon we won't be able to eat anything for fear of death or disease. Screw that. 'll eat what I want and go out with a smile. You do realize you are going to die sooner or later and of something, don't you? What are you trying to do? Get another 10 years out of life so you can spend 10 more years in a nursing home? A health class asked us what 2 things we would take before if we were going to a nursing home. People had all sorts of mementos and what not. My answer was pain pills and very strong alcohol.

Oh Aklim - this is why we love/need you. You should be a professional arguer.

Sure, I won't mind having another 10 years tacked on - and if you eat organic, you won't need viagra so what better way to spend your time?......but I'm more interested in living a healthy life in the middle of my life....and hopefully not depending on all the pills and medication sold at WALMART to fix what the modern world has created. Bobby Fischer taught me that. And you and I have touched on this before....but I also don't want to grow man-boobs from consuming all the steriod-laden milk.

I'm mostly kidding.....but I am trying my best to live a healthy life and monitor what I put in my body. We anal-retentatively change our synthetic engine oil - so why not care for our bodies?

I'd rather women like Mistress "love me long time"

I doubt the organic industry could claim that or they would. Besides, I don't know why you are so hung up on Viagra. Cialis has been approved for duration of 36 hours, yet, there are studies showing high efficacy out to 100 hours. It is not affected by any food whatsoever and in fact can be taken with pure fat. The typical McDonald's double cheeseburger with French fries and malted milkshake would certainly inhibit the effect of Levitra, but a steak with potatoes, a glass of wine, salad, and dessert would probably not. Neither of these would affect the absorption of Cialis. Cialis is protein-bound that causes a serum peak concentration of two hours and a half-life anywhere between 16 and 22 hours depending on the age of the patient. The older the patient, the longer the half-life. Because of the long duration of action, the lack of absorption effects, and efficacy at least as good as Viagra, if not better. The paradigm of taking these PDE-5s may in fact change as people gain more and more experience with Cialis. . Gives meaning to the terms "Boom Boom long time."

So don't go to excess. You can buy prescriptions at other places than Wal*Mart.

I wouldn't take Bobby's health advice any more than Tiger Woods endorsement of Buick. I'd take their chess and golf advice respectively. Actually, I would take any advice from Bobby Fischer since he is dead.

Cost vs gain, I suppose. Me, I don't care to live past retirement since my useful life will be over and the body goes downhill. You can't do at 70 what you could do at 20, can you?

Hung up on viagra? I think that's the first time I mentioned it......haha, no - I was just trying to say that I plan to explore all my wife's wrinkles at 70 and attempt to do what I've done at 20 without chemical assistance. And if people want to use viagra, cialis, whatever - that's cool with me.....I'm just not doing it.

My point was that I'm just trying to live a healthy life, at 28 and at 78 - and honestly, the food tastes great. I'm not eating soy burgers with soy cheese on rice cakes- it's pasture fed organic beef with nitrate free organic bacon and raw milk cheddar, tis all

Sorry, got you confused with someone on another board. In any case, my point is that "bang for the buck", Cialis is better.

Even if it means you can't rise to the occasion?

Just a little too much hassle and/or price for me. IMO

Good point - it's easy for me to make that statement when, um, there is a surplus of the aforementioned commodity.

And also - I can respect your statement about the convenience/cost factors. I'm very fortunate to live within a few miles of a top-notch organic farmer (yes, an Amishman) that I buy everthing directly from. It does cost more money than, say Walmart - but well worth it IMHO.

I don't care about hype..........I consume what makes me feel good and makes my mind happy. Power foods like Kefir, yogurt, Kombucha have been consumed for centuries, so have non steroid full cream milk from proper non BGH injected pasture fed cows. I don't have any intention of living long. I see the world only getting worse but the years I do intend to live I wish to do so satisfied. So I eat preferably non hormonized red meat when I feel like, full cream milk that too raw but all in moderation.
