The whole school district down here would be in detention -- these Cajuns are the huggingest people I've ever seen. More than Mexicans and Eye-talians.

“Displays of affection should not occur on the school campus at any time. It is in poor taste, reflects poor judgment, and brings discredit to the school and to the persons involved.”
Would someone explain the above sentence to me ? Apparently, emotion is not allowed at that school.

My four year old displays his affection toward me by wrestling. Knowing that kids do this, the school district decided to ban all outward showing of emotion just in case someone could get hurt.

Yes. That's it.

That district has a really stupid policy. Of course, being in full lip lock with your SO (or anyone else for that matter) in public is generally bad form and should be discouraged. However, a hug here and there is not a bad thing and should not be treated as such. I think it would make sense to allow teachers and other first-line disciplinarians to excercise some judgement on behavior they observe.

Put the teachers and admins showing affection on You Tube. Seems like that ALWAYS forces change. They asked for it...
