First thing I look at in a house is a garage. That one has a two-car - pass.

Nah. Too big. Too expensive. Too gaudy. Lousy location-east of the Rockies.

I did some looking and decided I like this one:

http://listings.listhub.net/pages/NNRMLS/409/70012409/?channel=yahoo

Of course, if I was rich and I did buy it, there would be some serious sanding and staining going on in that kitchen.

What, no work shop out back?
Fergit it!
I'd be bored stiff with a house like that. Seriously.
McMansion on steroids.

None of my Mercedes' float, so that first house is a no go.

Skippy, only a .16 acre lot? No thanks, I like my 4.6 acres.

I don't know how you guys live inland. In my view having a house on the water and a boat out front trumps all car related things.

Enough to have some space, but not a lot to mow or pay property tax on. That and if you want to live close to the center of town, .15 and .16 acre lots are about all there is here.

Thats probably all its worth. Around here delusional sellers have grand notions of some equaly delusional New Yorker, with bags of cash buying there homes.

I smell desperation and a delusion of someone buying it as a summer home. Which could happen but probably not for what they are asking.

You mean a winter home right? It is in Florida. For me, a good location for a summer home might be Maine or Montana. A winter home in Arizona or New Mexico is starting to sound good to me.

When I lived in Mississippi, there was an old (100+) lady in the news who was from North Dakota or some other such cold place who had a winter home on the Mississippi gulf coast. Not such a bad idea to me, if you can afford it.

Yeah winter home, that was a typo.

I'd love to buy something like that one day just to outdue the rest of the family. Even though its a guady thing and totaly not my style. But it is my style to start ****! That would totaly one up my uncles and grandparents places down their!

The problem with buying something like that down their now is your going to own it for a decade, NFW are property values going to come back up. Taxes on that thing are what, about $30k a year, so that would suck.

My dream home is a victorian or an older estate in the country, kind of like Old Souths home if you remember him. I want space, and a large garage.

That first one has wonderful views and good light. The kitchen is a poor layout IMHO, and in a storm it looks mucho vulnerable. It looks like rough water would just roll right into that lower level.

A wonderful place to visit and rent but I would probably pass on ownership.....(as this is a fantasy exercise in which I could just buy it if I wanted).

If I Were a Rich Man

"Dear God, you made many, many poor people.
I realize, of course, that it's no shame to be poor.
But it's no great honor either!
So, what would have been so terrible if I had a small fortune?"

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

I'd build a big tall house with rooms by the dozen,
Right in the middle of the town.
A fine tin roof with real wooden floors below.
There would be one long staircase just going up,
And one even longer coming down,
And one more leading nowhere, just for show.

I'd fill my yard with chicks and turkeys and geese and ducks
For the town to see and hear.
Squawking just as noisily as they can.
And each loud "cheep" and "swaqwk" and "honk" and "quack"
Would land like a trumpet on the ear,
As if to say "Here lives a wealthy man."

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

I see my wife, my Golde, looking like a rich man's wife
With a proper double-chin.
Supervising meals to her heart's delight.
I see her putting on airs and strutting like a peacock.
Oy, what a happy mood she's in.
Screaming at the servants, day and night.

The most important men in town would come to fawn on me!
They would ask me to advise them,
Like a Solomon the Wise.
"If you please, Reb Tevye..."
"Pardon me, Reb Tevye..."
Posing problems that would cross a rabbi's eyes!
And it won't make one bit of difference if i answer right or wrong.
When you're rich, they think you really know!

If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray.
And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all.

Lord who made the lion and the lamb,
You decreed I should be what I am.
Would it spoil some vast eternal plan?
If I were a wealthy man.
