TALL BOY CANS OR EXTRA STOUTS ONLY! Extra stouts I only drink from the bottle. The can goes in upsidedown, all the way to the bottom of the empty glass. Then, I slowly raise the can in ratio with the liquid that has accumulated in the glass, keeping the can about 1/2" above it. Follow through until the can is empty. Sometimes, if I want a bit of head on, I'll pour the last two ounces a bit heavy. Quite a science, huh?

Draft Guiness is the best. To me it tastes completely different than the stuff in bottles and cans. I don't really drink beer much anymore, but that draft Guiness was not too shabby.

Pour in glass. Enjoy.

Anything else and you're a snob.

Put it back on the shelf. Grab a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey instead.

tall boy cans are the best widget type if you ask me. Nothing beats the keg however. Now here's the next question:
What is the proper temperature?

add it to your previous answers...

Contrary to some opinion, Guinness is best served COLD!

Hate to thread-jack but since this is generally a pro-German crowd here, does anyone enjoy a nice Rauchbier? I've found a liquor store that sells bottles of Bamberg Marzen Rauchbier, which I've never seen in the states. Delicious! If you like the smell of bacon (yes, that's right) you'll love it.

Guinness-tall boy cans, poured slowly into tilted glass, letting the beer dribble down the side. I like them cold, but not as cold as I like my domestics. Too cold and it kills the flavor for me.

I've (oddly enough) never had a rauchbier. I used to live in Atlanta and frequented Green's on Ponce, but somehow managed to miss the rauchbier. They always had a huge selection of beers and whiskies from all over. Local stores here are not so great.

I like it served cold, I pour it into a nice tall glass at a slight angle. The trick is to raise the bottle a bit at the end to give it a nice head.

Guiness needs to settle a bit but is excellent. I also enjoy Beamish, and I since that is in a can I will crack it open and turn the can upside down in the glass. Beamish is a one shot beer you have to pour the whole can into a glass ASAP or it sucks. Turning the can upside down seems to give it a nice head. I hate cans though.
