Technical Support Stories
I've just spent most of the morning on the phone with Sirius, trying to update the software for my S50. After being on hold for half an hour, I got a woman who I could barely understand (really thick accent), explained my problem, and struggled to follow her halting instructions. She obviously had very little training or could not read off the screen in front of her. She kept getting flustered until she finally hung up on me.
I spent ANOTHER 20 minutes on hold and finally got Louis or maybe it was Luis. I described my problem once again and Louis told me, "Push this button on your radio and tell me what it says." I did and then he told me, "Okay, you're all set. Your software has been updated." When I asked why the radio signal has been cuttingi in and out lately, he said, "Oh, that's not your radio. That's a problem we're having with out satellite." I started laughing and he asked what was so funny. I asked why they didn't just post that on their website and save everybody a whole lot of time. Okay, NOW I'm calling to find out where the replacement credit card is from Visa. Somebody apparently hijacked mine and has been using the number to order stuff all over creation, so I had to cancel it. If I get lucky there, then it's on to Apple to figure out why my Ipod won't sync with my computer anymore. I need to retire. I don't have time to have a job. It takes all of my time to keep everything running around here!

Dee8Go, iPods are easy to troubleshoot....
We are a big technical support service here..... What exactly is going on with the iPod....

I already mentioned this and got several suggestions, but none seemed to work for me.
I tried syncing mine to ITunes and everything on the I Pod was erased. The menus were still there, but all the music, albun covers, etc. were gone. I tried again and SOME of the artist names reappeared on the I Pod, but there was only one song under each of those. I Tunes seems to be fine. I checked to see if My Computer was recognizing the I Pod when it was connected and it was. It seems like there must be some softare link between I Tunes and the I Pod that has gotten scrambled, but finding that would be way beyond my capabilities.

Yaaa! I don't know what I did differently this time, but today the damned thing synced up and all the music has reappeared on the I Pod.

Plug your ipod into the computer....
On the left hand pane, it should pop up, and give you some options... One of those options is only sync checked music... (Or something to that effect...) Make sure that is unchecked. There is one more option, but I cannot remember what it is... I will get my iPod later, and hook it up to see if I can find out the option...

That is unchecked. The others are: Manually manage musuc and videos, and Enable disk use. The only one of the four that IS checked is the firsst one, open I Tunes when this I Pod is connected.
The only thing I have done differently is to uninstall and then re-install my Sirius Satellite software, so maybe that had been creating a conflict before. Who knows? I'm just going to burn a stick of incense to the computer entertainment device gods tonight . . .

o.k. so does the IPOD work now? We could be going for three and 0 today folks. stay tuned. unless of course there is problem wiht the satellite.
