It would be pretty stupid in a natural sense to report more than you make, unless you have the intention to scam off investors.

Big Oil so far hasn't been reported on it, but they sure take home $100 Mil. in bonuses. That's money spent as well ...

However, to make the long story short, you could just say, as well as the other guy, you're more than happy to pay what they ask for, as long as they deliver the precious juice to your nearest station, you'll be endlessly grateful.
I don't doubt it. But what's your point? There are a lot of people I make more money then. I suppose I am a scumbag in their eyes? There are a lot of people that make more than I do? Now they are the scumbags in my eyes?

Yes but it would be even more stupid to have someone come tearing thru your books if you don't follow certain procedures for reporting that have been laid out. Think I don't like to report $100 profit only made? Sure I would. But I like NOT having the IRS going thru my books even more.

So what? Would you work for less if you were hired there? I'm sorry that you are not more capable or you could get a job there and work for 1 million a year only and show the rest of us. Just because you are not in that league doesn't mean other's aren't. They did better than you and such is life. If I were good enough to make that kind of money, I'd be wealthier. I'm not in that class and that is what I have to accept. I don't have to demonize others because they are my betters.

Lets make it even shorter. I'm a capitalist not a communist. I don't treat others who make more money than I as kulaks.

No, it's an assumption. If the best you can come up with is finding new ways to take wealth from the people who earned it and give to people who did'nt earn it, well I'd rather you just did'nt bother at all.

But, that's not what you're saying and I strongly doubt that you'll bring this over your lips with a clean conscience.

Ps, You fail to assess and present the situation correctly.
It's not about profits that can be made by selling oil, it's about profits that already have been made and not shabby either. From your money as well as mine, with no improvement being delivered (that only by the way)

But apparently you don't mind paying for it ...:
What sort of "improvements" were you expecting, shinier gas pumps, cleaner toilets.
Gas is basically a commodity, you squeeze the handle it goes in your tank and off you go.
If you don't like the amount of money they make stop using the product. I'm willing to bet that no one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy the product

You can, it's called buying stock and participating in the dividends. If you had an
ounce of business and or finance knowledge you'd know that. Personally, I own as much
stock in oil companies as my tolerance for risk will allow me to own. So...you keep
pumping that gas into your tank and I'l keep putting those dividends in my pocket.
It's good to be a capitalist pig.

Here is the joke I heard:
Girl: Dad, I can't believe you are a conservative
Dad: Lets talk about you. What did you make for grades this semester?
Girl: I got straight As.
Dad: What about your friend, Heather?
Girl: Oh, she didn't do well. She made straight Ds.
Dad: Why don't you be a good friend and give her some of your points so she can do better?
Girl: Dad! I can't believe you said that! I worked hard for my grades.
Dad: Welcome to conservatism.

[/Sarcastic Mode]

Strippers at the pump would be good. Better yet a BJ while I was filling up.

[

You capitalist pig. I don't even own stock in oil.

Cradle to grave is all the rage. Didn't you know?

[/Sarcastic Mode]

Edit: Strippers and BJs at the pump would be good. I'd be filling up all day long.

That is because you are a blood sucking capitalist pig always ready to make more money. Why, socialism is good. No greed. People work for the betterment of society.

It doesn't matter to me which kind of pig you decide to be is being good. Apparently you thrive upon the believe, that being your kind of pig is better than being any other kind. Pig is pig.
I sure chersih to see your self categorization publically posted.

If your stockholding dividends allow you to pay ever rising prices on goods that this society depends on, doesn't mean you live in a real world.
Quite contrary, you favor living in a rather animal like world.

Now speaking of assumptions. The one's you make about me "just hanging around and wait ...blah blah blah" are wildly laughable.
Again, it shows the surreal environement you're in.

Speaking of government. You probably also support H1B work visa politics lobbied by corporations and legislated by the "government".

Let me give you a piece of advice.

Being a "right wing liberal" doesn't make you any less liberal than being a "left wing liberal".
You just hang out on the other side. You don't do nothing for your country.

How so? The real world is about making your own way thru it, isn't it? Or is it one where you are going to have to suck on the tit of the government to survive?

Tell me about this animal world you seem to disparage. Is it the one where they eat what they kill and don't go around killing more than they need? Do they horde the food like humans do possessions? Do they take care of their young better than many people do? The list can go on but I think you can see the point I am making. You have to rise above the human world before you can get to the animal world and not the other way around.

What is wrong with the H1B work visa? It is a legal means to get into the country and from there you can get citizenship if you prove you are not a burden to society. OTOH, we have the border crossers that are doing it illegally.

Your lines throughout this thread are spread like butter on a slice of bread. There's nothing to hold onto.
Sorry, 'Klim I had to say it. I know you will forgive me.

You're "government-tit-sucking" kind a thing, isn't going to fly with me.
You don't know where I'm coming from, you don't know where I'm going and you don't know how I am doing it.
I can assure you, I am not asking for anyone's help. If I do, I do it out of kindness exclusively, because some people just love to help.

Everything my existence is based on, I pay for it, or it is earned otherwise.
Yet I have a very well developed system to keep the monetary exchange aspect in the background. I don't have to brag about, how cool of a 'capitalist' I am.
I don't survive. I live. And I enjoy living.

Money is not the motivation why I am doing things. Therefor, profits in the way of your interpretation, are not my personal concern, nor my desire.

But going in this direction maybe foreign to you ...

Ps. the animal thing was in regards to the mention of the pig in another post. It's not the pig's fault, that it has a bad reputation. It's George Orwell's fault.

Fact is, you're neither one of the above, you only think you are, what you think you are. I don't know what 'kulaks' are, so I don't think I treat anybody that way.

If you really wanted to know, there is plenty of info out there, you would just have to dig a little deeper, beyond the shallow surface.

I have yet to see a single post, or at least one idividual, stating with clean conscience, how little they mind to pay current fuel prices and how happily ready they are to pay even more for it in the future

Fine. You tell me how a person who earns enough tp pay for what he wants even with price increases is not living the the "real world" because I don't seem to understand your comment.

Nothing cool about being a capitalist. It is a philosophy I subscribe to.

I can take any and all profits if you don't want them. Yes, it is my motivation for doing things. After all, I don't work for nothing. I work so I can afford my lifestyle.

Yes, it would be foreign to me since most people I know do things for gain either monetary or some other form. IOW NILIF.

Well, humans always have rated themselves the best when what they seek to achieve has been achieved in the animal world
