My dad bought a one year old 180 when I was 6. He replaced with another and I had a 59 220SE. They were fabulous cars. The very definition of Mercedes Benz quality. They will always be the quentisential Mercedes and I will always love those cars.

My dad's first MB was a 1959 190E...black (I have a pic of it somewhere). Sold the car 14 years later for $1200...still looked remarkable!

Also, my first exposure to the really neat owner's manuals that MB used to provide...with 150+ pages of exploded diagrams of everything about the car! You could almost build one yourself from scratch just following the manual!
