Jeez, just tell him to get a newer S-class!

I'm sure he's used to the perfect build quality and attention to detail of a Mercedes by now...he will probably be disappointed by the Bentley.

Why not a Jag XJR if he wants something British thats friendly to old people?

For $60k you should be able to get one damn near new with a good CPO warranty.

lol. He tried the Jaguar XJ VDP, but didn't like the feel of it. He tried the new XK, and said he would have one if it didn't hurt his back and knees.

What about a big Lexus? My broker has a pretty late model LS430 and its a fantastic car if your not a car person. Super quite, reliable, cushy ride.

Tried that. He likes the LS460L. He is definitely not a Lexus person though. He kept telling the salesman that the car felt like it had no soul...

The salesman looked at my dad like he was nuts.

Convince him to take the $60k he would have spent on the Bentley and buy a w140 S600 for himself and a used Porsche Boxster for you. Seems the best resolution to the issue.

Ever drive one? Mid-engined cars can offer excellent handling.

Yes, I have driven several Lotus/Porches, etc. They are great fun to drive, but the boxster is a chicks car. If I wanted something sporty and decently quick, give me a Honda S2000.

The Miata is a chick car, not the boxer.....but I would take either.

I wouldn't care if you think I am chicky.

I will admit I woudn't actually buy either though.....but not because of the chick factor just there are other things I find more interesting.

BTW, I would say that I have never driven a Japanese car that I thought had any soul.

I'd love to try a Honda 2000 or an NSX though to really put the theory to its test.
