While I don't run away from them and shriek in fear, spiders not in captivity do give me a chill. When I lived in a lake cottage for 2 years we used to get what we called tree spiders, which aren't agressive or particularly venemous but they are fast, which are about the size of a lady's hand with long thin legs. I would get up early every morning to check the sinks, toilet and bathtub to make sure there weren't any surprises for the Mrs. (then GF) to find.

What freaked my out was when I built a new deck next to shore. I dragged the old plywood decked one out into the water so that I could float it around to the beach for demolition and as soon as it began to submerge what seemed like hundreds of those freaking things popped up to the surface and began scurrying to the shore. It gave me the heebie jeebies for days.

Being in a house with a bat flying around used to bother me until I had to remove 8 or so on different occasions during about a 1.5 year stretch. Let's just say my badminton game has improved since I moved in the house.

Well. As my dented Kia doesn't even "have" a donut in it any more I guess you'd be safe with me parking near you. Actually as I can't even jack mine up (POS jacks keep stripping their threads) I wonder just how many other's out there are riding around with useless donuts.

For me, my real phobias are spiders and insects. Big ones rather than minute ones.

You weren't asked what your deepest desire was.

Add "The lack of" to the beginning of your post and I think it will be correct.

With the way Jenna Jameson looks now, it will be being sexually abused by Briana Banks and Tera Patrick and the old Jenna Jameson.

True.

I should have made my description more accurate. My phobia is parking next to neglected Kia's /Hyundai's that are less than 10 years old where the driver appears to hit something on an almost daily basis. Random dents everywhere, gouges up the side, smoking at idle, and a donut spare with threads showing on 2 out of the 3 normal tires is what I'm picturing. These are ridiculously common in a college parking lot; uncompleted ricer projects usually look about the same, which I hold in the same esteem.

More succinctly, I'm scared to death of my car getting hit by some absent minded a$#%^& that takes no pride in his own vehicle and wouldn't think twice to drive off after plowing his s#^box in to my poor, unattended car.

As careful as I am, this has happened to ALL 3 of my cars! One was a little old lady who owned up to a $1,200 bill on my SL. Another was a horrendous ding on my X5 that was fortunately repaired by PDR. Even my diesel had its bumper trim cracked a few months ago by some idiot.

1. Getting sued again. (even though I won last time.)

2. Deep dings on my perfect 1989 420SEL (usually caused by kids, I don't have any yet.)

3. Spiders (we have LOTS of black widows in Arizona)

To add another car-damage-related fear, how about grocery carts? Or rather, the idiots who slam them into people's cars, or leave them in a position to be slammed into or roll into a car. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and started to pull into a spot ... well, there was a cart in it, very close to the next car over ... if I hadn't been paying as close attention, I would have knicked the cart and sent it slamming into the poor car next to me. What really ticked me off further is that there was a grocery cart port TWO SPOTS DOWN! How is anyone THAT lazy? (FWIW, I parked elsewhere then went back and got the cart for the sake of the guy whose car it was ready to strike). Several times I've come out of various grocery stores and found a cart with its nose up against my door or bumper. Not that they do major damage, but the little blue/red/whatever scuff marks add up. I guess that's more of a pet peeve than a fear ... but ...

Hospitals (if I'm the patient), hospital bills (if I'm the one paying), and lawyers (well, not the lawyers, really, more like being in a position of NEEDING a lawyer.

Bodhi,

Your pet peeve is similar to mine. Mine is the what I call the "human herd instinct". I park away from everyone. The extra 50 or so strides will do me good anyhow. When I come back, someones' parked right next to me with spaces vacant for several yards. WHY do people do that?

Back to the subject:

No. 1 fear: Never being able moving out of La, the state.

2. Bioterroism and our inability to quash it.
