We didn't do a gift registry for the same financial reasons...a lot of well-meaning well-wishers who were short on funds.

Got some nice token wedding gifts, as well as some cheap ones, like a plastic pasta collander from one relative. While most of the other gifts have long since been broken or worn out, the collander is still being used today and sits in a prominent place in the kitchen cabinet! Who would have figured?

I hate weddings, I really hate them. But if you have nothing better to do go, they can be fun if you know a few people their.

I would figure a dinner jacket would work, as for gifts meh whatever crap they want.

Box of condoms, blow up dolls if you are too cheap to buy sheep.

That pic G-Benz posted is funny and arousing at the same time.

The wedding is gonna be held at a hotel--Hyatt, I think. I'm not sure of there will be a bar, but I don't care since I don't drink. I'll bring some cash in case I need a soda.

Hmmm, yeah, maybe some of you guys are right, weddings are fertile grounds for lovelorn chicks, or at least chicks who may feel a bit in the mood to hook-up because of the atmosphere and all the subliminal signs weddings give out.

I know there will be quite a few people I know that will be there. The bride-to-be is friends with some people from the place we both used to work at, and I'm sure they were invited. I know most of them pretty well, so it'll be like a little work reunion.

Yeah, I better send my RSVP reply note. It was nice that the envelope is already stamped. Who knows, maybe I'll meet some cute single chick!

Go for it and good luck talent scouting. I wasn't too sure at first advising you to attend but since you will know some people there you have a fall back if the talent is weak.

I was told the proper time to bail out of a wedding reception is after the bride's dance, make sure your gift is properly placed, and thank the appropriate people.
