The guy I was dealing with Sears saw me get out of it, so this proves they can at least see fairly well!

The first time I took my Jeep CRD into the dealership for an oil change, they put 12 quarts in instead of 6.3, and did the same thing to my dad's CRD. They had absolutely no explanation as to how the mistake happened, or how they didn't notice afterward that the oil went about four inches too far up the dipstick. Good stuff.

I'm at a local Chevrolet Dealership (the place where the S-10 actually came from) getting a LOF change.

As part of their "1,001 Points Of Inspection Plan" - the SM comes out and tells me that the right front side-marker lamp is "poofed" and is it OK to replace it? "Sure, go ahead.." I say...

The next thing I see is: The truck is out of the building, in the parking lot, w/two employees huddled around the driver-side lamp fixture (the side marker is part of the whole headlight assembly), but these two clown are "cranking" on the two controls that adjust the lamp's elevation and axis. WTFH?????

ME: "What's going on?"

ONE OF THE IDIOTS: "We're trying to get to the side marker lamp."

ME: "Have you EVER CHANGED a lamp on an S-10 before??" (My voice is approaching glass-breakage tone/level.)

THE OTHER IDIOT: "Uh-h-h-h, (Clue #1: He might be lying...) yah...we....have...."

ME: "Then why are the two "tabs" still attached and the fixture is still attached to the wall? Here, let me take care of that and one of you go get John (SM) and have him come out here."

IDIOT #2 takes off to get the SM...

JOHN: "OK you two...head on back in...."

ME: (After NN#1 and NN#2 have left ear-range.) John? What's going on?"

JOHN: "New kids...they're still in training."

ME: "Suggestions John? How 'bout having a "trainer" with one of them all the time? We'll need to head in and get the headlights, realigned after this SNAFU..."

JOHN: We'll take care of it, N/C..."

ME: "BTW John, you said it was the right-side marker lamp, right? Then, why are we over on the driver's side?"

JOHN: "Good point. We'll really take care of it..."

They did...I double-check everything before I leave their lot since then...

As the girl was filling out the car info( because she couldn't scan a barcode for a VIN on my old tank) I started it so I could park it before they would work on it( 90 minute wait... pfft). She was up front and commented, "Your engine is knocking really bad, how long has it been doing it?"

me: "well, ever since I started putting diesel in the tank it started knocking and making tons of black smoke at WOT"

her: " you shouldn't put diesel in it"

me: - laughing my ass off as I drive away and decide to take it to the goodyear tire center across the street.
You missed a good opportunity for a date Friday night in addition to extolling the virtues of owning a diesel.

More to love? More cushin for the pushin?

Queen wrote this song:

Are you gonna take me home tonight
Ah down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rockin world go round

Hey I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew life before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman you made a bad boy out of me
Hey hey!

Ive been singing with my band
Across the wire across the land
I seen evry blue eyed floozy on the way
But their beauty and their style
Went kind of smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies every time

Oh wont you take me home tonight?
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh and you give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin world go round

Hey listen here
Now your mortgages and homes
I got stiffness in the bones
Aint no beauty queens in this locality (I tell you)
Oh but I still get my pleasure
Still got my greatest treasure
Heap big woman you gonna make a big man out of me
Now get this

Oh you gonna take me home tonight (please)
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin world go round
Get on your bikes and ride

Oooh yeah them fat bottomed girls
Fat bottomed girls
Yeah yeah yeah
Fat bottomed girls
Yes yes

It's better to patch or plug-patch a tire than to just plug it and only a tire store has the equipment to do that. To minimize the chance of trouble I only bring the wheel to them instead of the whole car. I used to go to one GoodYear store that seriously overtightened my lug nuts. I never went back.

Yep. Where I buy my tires, they patch and replace stems and balance for the life of the tires (and that is without purchasing the road hazzard package).

I used to buy my tires off tire rack until I added up shipping, mounting, balance, and several repairs to Jeep tires during the course of a year.
