They are fairly large diameter tubes that seem to go from under the intake, to the crankcase I guess. My indy found the problem and replaced them. Made all the difference in the world.

Hey maaaaaannnnn....enough of that chit and you don't care how anything runs....unless they're on a munchy-run......then they better hurry.....

Seriously though...I had a problem on my S-10 (I know, it's not an MB) that sounded similiar, they went through wires, caps, rotors, more wires (they were getting "spark-over" from the wires to the engine)...

Turned out it was the distributor's rotor shaft...apparently it was loose enough and worn out on the driven end that it was causing the mis-fire at idle and at certain spots in the excelleration curve...it was bad enough that I would end up with mis-fire and related codes...

What ever that determines the "firing" of the glow plugs or whatever (if it's something that's "driven" by an item on the engine itself) that might be part of the "timing" of the combustion cycle, have the technician see if that item might be loose or dragging...

Just an idea I'm throwing out there...

BTW why take your car all the way to Tarzana? Franks in Laguna or Rubens in Dana Point (where my car is) have good reps.

But back to smoke shops, there is a very good cigar store in Dana Point on Coast Hwy. There is a smoke shop that sells all kinds of water pipes and such in San Juan, it used to be called Mardo's but was sold a couple years back.
I just called up Franks in Laguna and he said that he has a leak detection smoke machine so I think I will take the car down on Friday and get them to run it as they just down the road from me.

My misfire is almost back to where it was now....pretty disappointed after it was almost gone driving it out of Enrique's.
