Schooled a ricer...

Those that drive in New Haven will know the bane of driving their. Riced out usualy pretty junk Civic's that pass you in the gutter almost causing all sorts of accidents. At stop lights they can usualy be seen blasting up the line of stopped cars, inch's from them.

The best course of action with these morons is to leave a wide gap, and let the cops who 9 times out of 10 ignore them, deal with them.

Well anyway today as I was coming home from class in pleasent down town New Haven, their was a fairly new Civic doing just that. At this particular light their is a van that is always parked on the side selling flowers so the room to do the gutter pass is limited. The SOP for these guys is to inch up, floor it, and get in front of you.

On a lark I decided you know what not this time, so when the light turned green I floored it, and my reaction time was quite a bit better than his. Since I got a jump on him and I stayed just barely ahead until he gave up and merged.

At the next light I got the thumbs up from the Magnum that was behind me.

Good story...

Pictures???

A ricer was trying to pass me, and came along side me at a stoplight. I was in the middle lane, and he was in the right lane. On the other side of the intersection, it merges back into my lane.... Well, the light turned green, i take off more expediently than usual, and the ricer tries to do the same....

Well he stalled it, and I got a good laugh.

one of the many reasons my VW is getting done up.

13's in the 1/4 - running on used motor oil. Should put some cars in their place....

(I was even thinking of doing a straight side dump exhaust.)

They're always driving up and down rock road here in Wichita, looking for a quick 1/8th. Love to blow the doors off them in the old SL, and the looks on their faces. Most of the time their car is fully loaded with other morons, further hurting their chances.

Coming home tonight I got stuck into 3 traffic flows due to blatant government stupidity.... which always fries the nerves a bit. Car #1 Nissan Sentra cutting in and out of 3 other cars like a douchebag. Exhaust and body kit. See's car #2 a Honda of some sort similarly outfitted. I see them pull up next to one another and predict whats going to happen next. My exit was next so I kicked the fog lights on and accelerated before they even started their little highway race. I positioned myself behind the two of them ala driving down the line. That extra 2 seconds meant that I was able to keep right up with them. Didn't take them long to get off the throttle once they saw me coming. Mafia looking car coming right up behind.... gurranteed to freak them out every time.

Just coming back from the AMG Challange also helped

I'm not cutting your car down Hatters, but I,m surprised you can outrun ANY ricer, even with a headstart. 126 diesels are really pretty slow on take off. Even my 420SEL won't beat most modern 4 cylinder ricers. 126's are just too heavy... They were built for beauty not speed. Oh well...

Its possible, I beat a kid in his Chevy Cobalt RS or whatever they are. I had a better reaction time (I also loaded the torque converter for a couple seconds before it went green so I shot off the line) and he missed a shift trying to rapidly shift to keep up, that was the nail in the coffin for him, as I was able to make it to where the road became one lane and he had to stay behind me. He flipped me off later when it became two lanes again.

These cars aren't thaaat slow. It depends on the driver!

Slow on takeoff yes, but once the turbo kicks in you'd be amazed at how quickly they can move.

In both our cases we we're better drivers then the pillocks. One- just because they sound fast doesn't mean that they are fast. Two-A good driver in a slow car will always be faster then a bad driver in a fast car. (Within respectable limits of course)

The right corner of my front bumper "schooled" the left rear 1/4 panel of a Civic 6 months ago. Same scenario. 4500 lb 126 vs 2500 lb Civic - I AIN'T MOVIN !! In the eyes of the law, he "passed on the right" A no no... Civic 1/4 panel - 0 126 bumper - 1.

"Schooled a Ricer" or "Ricer Got Owned" threads are prolific throughout many forums (MB, BMW, etc.)

I wonder what gets posted on Ricer forums? "Schooled an electric scooter"?

Yikes! I hope there wasn't too much damage. If one ever did that to me it would be Civic 1/4 panel 0, 126 bumper 1 and Civic plus being-pushed-into-ditch= -1 Civic on the road.
