So last night me and some friends went down town to chicago to some bars. I SLept over at my friends house, drove home and then noticed on my passanger side that my car had been keyed!! This is on my Brand new car!! My car sat there all night so i know it was someone in the neighborhood. I took it to a detail shop to see if they could buff it out. They did a nice job, but there's still a line you can kinda notice, and a spot on the door that they couldn't buff. This really pisses me off. Why do people do this? Seriously what did i do to anyone? Uhhgg think i should do anything else to try to fix this? like take it to a body shop. I mean its not that bad, but i'm really OCD when it comes to the appearance of my cars

That sucks man. Like Vincent Vega says, 'it's against the rules man'.
Utterly lame, especially since you didn't do anything to 'deserve' it? Like park in someone's spot or block a laneway... If they buffed it out and it's not too visible, I would leave it at that. You'll stop staring at the spot in, oh about a year or so.

Get a touch up pen from automotivetouchup.com with your car's color code.
Keep applying the paint in the scratch to build it up level or slightly higher than the surface of the surrounding paint. Then compound it smooth by hand with a rag and wax it when your done. If the scratch is larger, you may want to use 2000 grit wet sand paper to level it and then compound and wax. If you have metallic paint it's kind of tough to match it exactly, but solid colors take this repair VERY well.

Yea its a solid black car. Luckly i did get a paint pen last time i went to the dealership. But, touching the spot up, im not good enough to make it match perfectly.
another question, think i could use some rubbing compound? not heavy duty, but regular stuff. I know its questionably, specially on this paint type. Anythoughts?
