Cigar bar...

Went to one tonight to get some Cuban's...wow it was nice...chess tables...guys in jackets drinking scotch & bourbon. I wasn't expecting that, for some reason never went into one. I'm in, screw clubs thats where I'm going next week.

Very upscale, manly place. Seemed to be lots of good conversation about business and politic's over good cigars and chess.

We would have stayed but my friends "girlfriends" where being a PITA. They are not coming next weekend when we go. I'll be breaking out the evening jacket thats for sure!

Real cubans, or fake cubans?

I got a source here in Sacramento, but not where I go to school... It makes the trips home that much better.

They were real. Not bad but heavy, quite a few $$$ a pop.

We just grabed them and ran, freaken girlfriends wanted burgers. I'm going back next week, I want to play some chess!

I wasn't expecting to go anywhere decent so I had a T shirt on. Totaly under dressed, actualy that was the theme of the night. The freaken girls dragged us into some expensive places. We were like WTF we wanted to chill, could have just went down the Yacht club if they were going to do that.

The first bar we went into was very nice, and I was in a freaken T shirt and cargo shorts. They must have thought I was a bum or had crazy money. It was all Yale guys...

HAHAHA.... The girl is away in Hawaii with her family, and I am kickin it at home... Smoked cigar with my dad earlier, and relaxed.

When I wanna chill... Well, there are many places that happens.

Depends on the mood. Sometime, I will go down and hang out on the boat in the slip... (Ususally people are partying like nuts), go to the clubs, hit some of the bars, or hit up the car scene.

Yeah, I'm kind of club'd out at this point. I just enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing X box. On the DL and cheap is my new theme, went a little to nuts for a bit, and spent to much.

Tonight we were supposed to go to Friday's for there $2 drink special, didn't happen.

Next Friday night I'm going to sit my but down in one of those leather chairs, smoke a good cigar, drink some scotch, and play some chess, while talking man stuff. Guns, boats, planes, WW2, politics, taxes, and trucks.

Several years ago a friend invited me to his country club for a scotch tasting/dinner event. His club has great food, so I gladly accepted. Turns out he had the dates mixed up. It wasn't scotch night. It was cigar night. My lungs ached for at least a day from all the smoke, and I only took one or two drags off a cigar.

"Screw clubs?" You mean you hang out in hardware stores?

Sorry you couldn't make it to Chad's on Saturday. It was a lot of fun.

I go to this place sometimes:
http://www.coronacigar.com/events/index.asp

I go to the one in Heathrow.

There's a cigar shop called Maduro's (used to be Central Florida Cigars) a couple of miles from where I live. They have a jazz band every Friday night.
http://www.maduroscigars.com/

and if your ever in New York City don't go anywhere but J&R Cigars. Unless you want to be treated like crap.

They'll set up a Hooka for you. I haven't tried it yet, maybe next time.

I'd guess Cuban seed. If the band didn't say "Habana" they are cuban seed, not grown and rolled there, but like 99% of the R&J's Motecristos AF's ect..., grown and rolled in Dominican Republic. I would find it highly unlikely a legit cigar store would sell illegally imported Cubans in a storefront atmosphere. That's a big risk for little return.

Also, those were likely checkers tables, not chess. There used to be a bar in Richmond called Habana 55 that was similar--checkers and dominos.

Half the time if the band DOES say "Habana" they are fake.

I know, it's killing me that I didn't go.

One of my hang outs is the marine hardware store. Most Saturday mornings...

I don't know if they were real or not, probably not since thats illegal.

Of course it was chess, checkers, come on thats an old peoples game. Unless their is a way to play checkers with a king, queen, and pawns.
