Are you using the new version or the classic yahoo email console?
How are you opening the attachments step by step? |

It may sound silly but you shouldn't have to right click any of the links...
If you open the email containing an attachment in the Inbox console and or in its own pane you should be able to LEFT click on the link which then opens a popup window. Within that popup window is a remotely hosted Norton or McAfee filescanner app that then gives you the option to download the file once it clears any sort of infection. By right clicking the attachment and saving it, I suspect that you're simply downloading the scripted link. |

If I download an mp3 file from a link in my e-mail it also gives me an icon on the desktop. The download program seems to be part of the Mozilla browser because if I go to the browser Tools > Options > Main tab there is a download section with “Save files to Desktop” set.

That is what it was. It was set to save all downloads to the desktop. Thanks
