A little OT (sort of) but I am amazed that here in CA when you go in to vote you don't even have to show an ID! Talk about the possibility of fraud! I asked the worker about it and she just smiled and said "take it up with your congressman".

In most places I am aware of, you only have to show ID if you vote affidavit; ie your name doesn't appear on the roles.

You left off the part about fliers distributed telling democrats that due to overcrowding, they would be voting on Wednesday. I haven't seen the fliers but I'm guessing those are more solid proof of shenanigans than allegations of phone calls.

No ID in NY.

They have a sig from your registration document. They compare it to the sig you give the day of the election. Concluding that these individuals have any capability of discerning a difference would be a stretch.

If you want to discuss this, I have plenty of life-long Democrat relatives (and a summer home) in the Hampton Roads area. It is overblown BS. See the article in the Virginia Pilot, breaking the story from which dculkin's groups comments were extrapolated.

Hope NY budgeted for post-election litigation. Never voted there.

Same here. I like it.

If you think you were excluded you can challenge the system by voting and submitting an affidavit which the registrar checks against his rolls.

And going to the wrong polling place is going to stop someone from voting? I got my polling place address mailed to me about 3 times.

Here in CA they ask you to recite your home address, that's all. When you register they don't ask for an ID either, just an address.
