Compared to a typical SUV, Hummer H1's have a very broad track, which offers some advantage in that department.

Yup, I've seen that one. The Kia is much lower to the ground than your Tahoe. I'd rather collide with your Tahoe because there's a better chance my car would act as a ramp.

The H1 is one of the few real offroad vehicles, as opposed to just a plain old $hitbox. Still, I think they only make sense in the hands of the military. I don't see why a civilian would need one.

As wide as the true H1 Hummers (Humvees) are I'd think they'd be near impossible to roll in just about any civilian situation. H2's share a lot with the Yukon/Tahoe and are probably similar.

Yep, my boss increased the tire pressure and put 55K on his first set of Firestones before getting his free replacements.

Improper reaction to a tire blowout will get you a rollover the majority of the time.

Actually I saw some testing of this on TV done by professionals, and they had a hard time controlling a tire blowout in SUV's even though it was staged and they were expecting the blowout. Imagine when you don't expect it. In a car, it's not so bad.

I had a blowout in the F250, and all I did was slow down slowly, and not panic. Didn't even feel like it was going to flip...






I have done some pretty stupid manuvers in SUVs and Trucks. Powersliding in a friends 95 Tahoe, sliding the G around corners, Donuts in a Ford Exploder on Firestones... Ahh, the good times... And I am still here.


Now, lets see if I can roll the G.

No way - My smaller Tahoe would act like a wedge and flip that big $hitbox over...

I believe that TV program I was talking about dealt with separated tires, not just a plain old puncture. That's quite different.
