Valkyrie

... is about to be released. Dec. 25th 2008, as they say.

I wonder what that will do ...

Too bad it won't be in German. It's hard to get into these foreign films played by American actors with fake accents. I'll still check it out when it comes out on DVD.

I hope they go against Hollywood blockbuster formula and do an historically accurate portrayal.

My most recent memory of Hollywood run amuck is "Pearl Harbor". What an awful thing to do to a story that could have been as good as "Saving Private Ryan" or the Cabanatuan liberation as portrayed in "The Great Raid". "Ryan" was pure fiction portrayed with honesty and "Raid" was historically accurate but dramatized. Through us of archetypes in both movies, neither movie had to resort to war glamorization of tawdry vignettes as was in "Pearl Harbor". Nice special effects though. Another movie I'd put with "Ryan" and "Raid" was "Das Boot".

The Valkyrie story could be told straight-up and in any language, it would be suspenseful and interesting. But if they do a "Pearl Harbor" it will make me vomit.

You do know Tom Cruise is starring in the lead role, right Bot? Hitler will somehow be tied to Xenu.

Not even Bill Nighy is going to save this film from Ragnarok.

Worse: A racy fraulein played by Rebecca DeMornay knocks the shift lever of von Stauffenberg's dad's Mercedes 540K into neutral, causing the car to roll into the Rhine.

X2 I hope it has a Band of Brothers quality to it.

I'm looking forward to it and will see it shortly after it comes out. Maybe the day after X mass. This is the only movie this entire year that I have actualy wanted to pay $10 to go see.

Maybe Heinz Guderian will be in it and I can cheer for the old panzer commander.

Jimmy Page plays the guilty valet?

Tom Cruise is Hitler reborn, with his religious beliefs.

Nah he can't do Hitler, he doesn't have the "Hitler Stash".

"Cartman you can't be Hitler for Holloween!" That was a good episode.

But according to rumors from his ex, may have a similar issue with fecundity.

One nut shy of a load.

It's enough to make you weep. John Wayne would make a more believable Von Stauffenberg, and I mean John Wayne in his current state of decomposition.
