I've heard that a lot of people walk around, talking into cell phones when there's really no one on the line. Maybe they do THAT to keep people from bothering them. All this technology seems to be making us into a somewhat antisocial bunch of people.

That has been going on forever though I remember fake pagers that would beep at a preset time or a minute after a button was pushed, before that you told someone to call you, before that they sent a telegram, before that it didnt matter because they were fewer people and you could easily avoid those you do not desire to speak with.

I think its called a Netgram now, there are services that provide them to areas without internet.
