CM is a mixed bag and I don't care if he has the same initials I do. His mind works pretty well and he's no lightweight. A bit strident now and then, I'll admit. Perhaps politics would be a better fit for him.

I heard that bit. Thanks for the link. Too bad he makes good sense on it.

What really fries me is the way the ghost of Che Guevara has come back to tarnish the many, many accomplishments of our much beloved soon to be ex-presdent. Damn those commies! Is nothing sacred to them?

Get a grip pal. I have no affection for that hot-head. But neither do I obsess on the notion of him and commies in general being our greatest threat, nemesis, etc.

As was said by our Founders, our government is fit only to govern a moral people. One could argue that we are no longer a moral people, but a greedy, self-indulgent people. We no longer hold the simple truth that lying and stealing, are bad things, but look for ways to rationalize all behaviors.

When we were more or less a united People, no one in the world could, or would attack us. Now that we are fractured and Balkan-like. we are ripe for destruction from within.

Exactly right. The integrity of our system of exchange has been damaged. How badly and how long til we recover remains to be seen.

I think one of the biggest problems with communism is that it tends to make it easier for corrupt people to abuse the system, the public trust, etc. But unrestrained gaming of our capital based financial system can't be much better.
