We just got ours too.
Last year, Turbo-Tax said that I was required to pay quarterly with an ES form, due to a deficiency in withholding (mostly because of 1099 earnings). Instead, I had my employer send in an extra $100/month, which will hopefully keep the IRS happy. I don't know if it is correct to the letter of the law, but at least it's correct in the spirit. I should get something back this year, but I want it to be a very small figure. |

Actualy, right now my biggest gripe is my local Yuppieland (Fairfax County VA) property tax assesments which have remained at nearly the same level as they were 4 years ago when the market peaked.
Now some well-meaning friends are telling me that local tax authorities won't count the recent rash of bank-owned/forclosure sales for re-assesment! Happy Motoring, Mark

We’ve been quarterly for as long as I can remember.
We’ve had to have an accountant handle it all as well. (Because I can’t keep up with it all. Nor do I trust myself to go solo with it all. And a few other things...) What I get in the mail goes in a file, then goes to him. Then I give him a couple of checks and sign a bunch of stuff. ![]() “…get something back…” ![]()
