Absolutely true. I *generally* have a hard time fitting into Adidas, Puma, Nike, etc... though with my toe box requirements. I did find that I can wear Nike trail shoes; I had to buy some on short notice for winter running on a trip, and they have worked out well. It's a bummer having goofy feet -- I miss the days when I could actually wear Converse All Stars.

I have Puma's, and I like them. I had some New Balance's in the past, but most of them as of late, suck. My Puma's are trail running shoes, and I mostly use them for hiking, but I do go for short runs with them, and they are indeed very nice. I am also bow legged, so my tracking is a little off when I have a poor fitting shoe, and my tracking is dead on.
