12% sounds too low.

I drive by the farms north of here nearly every week twice. based on my observations I have only seen them still once or twice in six months.

A colleague suggested a potential impact of offshore wind turbines which was new (in the "Oh! Duh..." sort of way). Stick giant swirling vanes of the turbine on the steel structure and you produce a very low frequency sound (infrasound) into the water. Some serious environmental scientists from prestigious research institutions have expressed concern (and have entered court battles to stop) infrasound research by the Navy on the theory that infrasound can disrupt sea life migration, especially among the highly sound sensitive cetaceans.

So my colleague wondered if the windfarm-at-sea proposal might have an impact on the cetacean, which I don't think has been investigated.
