Just use the built it.

Note if you have XP Pro you can use the scheduler to run it automatically.

Probably because the one in XP takes about a million years to defrag a large drive and offers no real options such as the ability to pick files and folders to defrag. This is especially important if you edit a lot of audio and video.

PC Magazine and PC World recommend "defraggler." I use it and it is fine.

Ok then.......I've not found it to take that long on moderately fast drives....I suppose it has no options....but that's never been an issue.

My 74 gig Raptor was 44% fragmented when I checked it last night....took it all of 15-20 mins to completely defrag.

10,000RPM....rocks.

You mean you can't find the installer file? It will be in your "downloads" directory......

74 gig is pretty small, when you start approaching terabytes, speed becomes much more important

Yes yes I suppose.....I'd probably seek a faster program if I had terabytes to defrag.

My other drive is a 250 gig and it also defrags pretty quick.....my brother has a 640gig in his pc....I wonder how long that one takes....his is probably horribly fragmented too, he does constant video/animation/audio file editing and creation....

My servers auto-defrag and organize....the beauty of an expensive raid controller card taking care of things. It will even send my phone a txt message if there's a problem.
