We'll likely never know what those intercepts look like (which, IMHO, is a good thing). I'm applauding the current administration for apparently deeming it important enough to defend it's secrecy. And I'm willing to bet that it looks a HECK of a lot different from the "hot seat" than here from the peanut gallery (which is several rungs below the student lounge, for what it's worth).

They are not defending the intercepts. They are not defending the quality of the intercepts. All they are doing is trying to keep the methods the intelligence community uses to obtain and/or evaluate data. The righteousness of the data collection and/or its usefulness is nowhere in the neighborhood of what they are defending.

It was Bush's fault. Stick to the gameplan here.

Thy are defending the means, methods, and information acquired. Not coincidentally, those were the points of contention in the suit. Why would anybody bring in an extraneous question except on a forum? The forum goes where no politician has gone before!

I'm not sure what you mean. If you are saying that the Obama administration is arguing that the wiretaps were legal, then I disagree based on the article provided here. I have not read anything beyond that article, so I stand to be corrected on that.

That's exactly what I didn't mean. Go back and try again.

I'll pass, thank you very much. For some reason, my whole day has been a series of encounters with uncooperative, obtuse, and/or hostile people today. I'm not much interested in going back and trying again.

Oh please do tell, which one am I?

Perhaps I misunderstood your, when I thought were deliberately obtuse. If I misunderstood, I apologize. I thought you were intentionally misreading something in my comment #28 in which I responded to #21 largely along the lines that you are arguing.

Means and methods are the same thing. The information is immaterial.

Since we are on a forum, I don't have to answer that. A few posts in this thread seem to be confusing attempts to protect intelligence methods used with endorsement of the activity. The two have nothing to do with each other.

Well, one smears Obama, the other does not. Hmm... why bother with thoughtful analysis when conclusion jumping can be so satisfying, right Bot?

Wire tapping? How about all Obambi's TAP DANCING:

Obambi is smart enough to always blame Bush when something isn't working right. In 9-weeks of Obambination he raised the deficit by 10% -that, too, he blamed on Bush.

He's a sly one alright.........now he's disarming the United States of nuclear weapons, so Putin, NK, China and Cuba have a chance to play too.

He even sent some morons down to Cuba today. What a klutz!

Everyday, another opportunity for the neighborhood organ grinder......

Looks more like another day for overheated hyperbole.
