One leetle moment please; THE PROBLEM here is that those communist chinese cars are very VERY dangerous unsafe little tuna cans that will fold up like tissue paper if hit.

I will take a Mercedes Benz, even a battered but unbowed 30 year old one, with an unrusted or unwrecked body, for my accident, thank you very much.

Agreed. But since the Chinese are also capitalists, that wins out over communism.....as a good trading partner. The prices of their econoboxes, coupled with the American living wage dropping and rising fuel costs will win over any desperate American car buyer. Mileage + price == sale.

They are great until you spend $3k on a tranny. My dads friend bought a used 06 for his daughter, and a year later at 50k miles the tranny went out. Honda said its out of warranty go pound sand.

All cars have problems.

Service life of most components is usually dependant on how the tranny was treated.

How was it treated?? -No one knows........it was a USED car.

What percentage of 06 Honda's trannys go out at 50K?

A lot from what I hear, its pretty commen. 00-05/6 were bad years for the Accords and mini vans.

Search it on google, you get almost 1m hits. Its like Toyota's sludge problems of the late 90's.

The guy I bought my truck from buys cars at auctions for dealers, he won't touch Accords of that vintage because of it. To much of a chance of the dealer getting stuck fixing it. One of the guys that works for us bought a 2007 Accord new and has had some issues. Front brake rotors warping, random shutting down, and headliner falling down. He babbies the car, even with 25k miles on it now their is not a chip or dent on the outside and the interior still smells like new.

^^

One of the guys in my office had an Accord V6 ..about 2003 or 2003. He had tranny problems after about three years/50,000 miles.. He said the problem stemmed from Honda mating the same tranny used on the 4 cyl engine to the V6. Too much torque to hold up depending on useage. Lots of problems with that drive train.

Oh yeah, my friends moms Odyssey is on its 3rd transmission, in 200k miles. At $3k-$4k a pop its a big chunk of change for a $25k car.

My old 88 Accord went 175K before the trans went out. My boss had a 91 that went 250K. Of course, those were older than the window you guys are talking about. My 00 Prelude is a manual, but no problems so far.

My ex wifey ran off with our brand new '04 Accord LX that year. I heard that she wrecked it a few times in Florida.

I kept the 560SEC and am glad I did.

I didn't keep wifey and am ALSO glad of *THAT*.
