Sigh!

Even though I am against it, there MIGHT be something to be said for gun control!

I agree absolutely!
If this guy had gun control, he would have hit his intended target!

The 'true' meaning of gun control.

Just to renew your faith in the rights of people to possess guns.

Now THAT is a positive argument for firearms! You go girl!

The question that no one wants to talk about is how can all the European countries have very strict gun control laws and still have a smaller crime rate that the US?

America's gun laws aren't the problem. Ineffective sentencing is the problem. We simply don't have enough jails and electric chairs.

Why not a LNG chair? It is much more energy efficient. The energy we use on those chairs would power a small village in Slobbowobbaspitzen. Might even gain a few "carbon credits"

Nice thought Carleton but it wont work. Just think of the chaos which could occur in places like Seattle. 20 or 30 people sentenced to fry on one of the three clear sunny days they have a year! (ya just gotta love using a "smiley face" emoticon in THIS conversation!)

The good people of Seattle would have to contract out the executions and that would lead to use of fossil fuel. Hmmm, maybe a line of chained prisoners walking to a more southern state?

We could use ethanol I suppose, just call it a "Flexecution".

If we didn't have the guns we wouldn't need the enforcement.

You're on the right track. The advent of NAFTA opened a vast array of heretofore unexplored possibilities.
We could indeed transport them south to Mexico and employ the recently disenfranchised drug cartel gunmen as executioners,I like to call it "Mexecution"tm.

You are absolutely dead wrong. Criminals will always find a way to commit crime. If they didn't use guns, they would use hatchets or machetes, or clubs, or knives, or fists, or starvation, or whatever. The answer is to build enough jails and fille em up. Guns are a great equalizer. If we didn't have the guns you would be a slave.

And even though you say "you're against it," your last post indicates to me that you are all for gun control. Sheesh.

Flexicution - way to go MikeD. I do like that.
