That's nothing.

The most annoying response occurs after you have called the store (PepBoys) and asked if they have a "secondary fuel filter........the large spin on filter".

"Yes, we have it".

"Please leave it out on the counter"

"You coming down now?"

"Yes, I'll be there in 10 minutes".

Get to the store.

It's the primary........they don't sell the secondary.

Total and complete morons.........I don't know how they stay in business.

In all seriousness, you are now seeing the results of greedy finance weenies running companies staffed by the drones who are the product of the public education system.

Finance says keep no inventory, Marketing says lie to keep customers coming back, Training Dept says just stand there, they'll be back. When all else fails, take some Windex and a paper towel and wipe the counter...

If I can't get it online, then I have previously loocated an independent business that sells it or advises on it. Or I f CL, Kijiji, Ebay, or somewhere.
Unfortunately, you know what you're talking about.

I foiught that in business with Chrysler dealerships for ten years. And Chrysler Finance.

I was considered one of the un cooperative execs because I knew what was coming and said something about it.

They pushed me out because I knew where the bodies were buried.

I found another job and pushed on.

they all got special early retirements.

Those retirement payments were all cancelled at the bankruptcy of Chrysler.

I start my next cool job in a week.

I have no sympathy for them, just for those who trusted and were deceived.

A friend of mine just had this experience at the Travelodge in Fredericksburg VA after finding there was no hot water at 6:00 AM. To most people, the only two unforgivable sins a hotel can commit are: 1) Dirty room 2) No hot water.

K) "There's no hot water in my bathroom."
Reception) "There's nothing I can do about that. Maintenance doesn't come in until 8 AM."
K) "Well, I'd like to take a shower, can I use another room?"
R) "No." (no explanation offered)
K) "That's unacceptable! The least a hotel can offer is a hot shower!"
R) "Good luck in your next life."

Of course the receptionist claimed not to know the name of her manager and refused to supply the telephone number of the franchise management, claiming it was a "private" company and they didn't have to provide that.

A bit OT:

At 6:00 a.m., you're probably the first one up.........and there's been no hot water demand for the entire hotel for the night.

You get hot water after you run the tap for about 10 minutes............BTDT.......

Best line about modern retail from a recent episode of "Big Bang Theory"

We're going down to the Apple Store to laugh at the guys behind the Genius Bar

And on another note . . . while shopping yesterday at Honolulu's mega-mall, The Ala Moana Shopping Center, I took notice that the Disney Store had relocated from one side of the mall to the other, surrounded by Guess and Ben Bridge Jewelry . . . however, the bigger amusement was that their old space was being remodeled for a huge Victoria Secret (1st in the islands) store to open in the fall. . . and right next door . . . also being constructed for Fall debut . . . the building brick toy, Legos, is opening. I can't wait to see the traffic flow and window displays side by side.

Same here. I am usually up at 4:45 to get to work at or before 7 where ever I go. The water in the pipes is always cold for a while...

Of course the absolute WORST hotel I have ever stayed at was the Travelodge in Lancaster, PA. and I have been in some hotels a roach would not go into.
